Maeve speaks with Greg from Positive Life NSW and Ruan from the Bobby Goldsmith Foundation. They explain some terminology and bust the myths around HIV. They also talk about common fears around aged care for older people with HIV and how these can be addressed.

Episode 4: Palliative Care

In this episode we are joined by Ashwin Kaniah and Michelle Wicky who will speak on palliative care for LGBTI older people. We will discuss the importance for aged care workers to understand LGBTI older people’s experience in accessing palliative care services, how to have good conversations around palliative care with LGBTI older people and practical ways to deal with LGBTI specific family conflict.

LGBTI older people often have unique family structures that are important for aged care workers to understand when planning and delivering care services. In this episode we will explore the terms families of choice and families of origin. We have two guests joining us, Mez Newman and John Guppy, to discuss these terms and how you can make your service more inclusive of diverse family structures.
