    Make it Happen

    Welcome to Simply Talk, a show brought to you by Simply Creative. On today's episode we are joined by NYC base trumpet player Sal Arena and the one and only, King Soloman. Originally born and raised on the southside of Brooklyn, NY, King Soloman found a deep connection for music at a very young age. In Spring 2012, both Soloman and long time friend, Producer Tariq Allen, began to create catchy beats whilst recording at their high-school(Edward R. Murrow.)After leaving the “Brooklyn life” and moving to Miami, Soloman was put on a hiatus, leaving behind a lot of unfinished music. By the Summer of 2015, he stumbled upon the local music scene in South Florida, putting his passion back into overdrive. After years of hardwork and reconnecting with Tariq Allen, King Soloman was reborn. The King introduces us to his creation of a boy who grew up in Brooklyn, showcasing a past of defying the odds and rising up against challenges. King Soloman’s audience can relate to his music in multiple ways. Combining a rhythmic flow with witty lyrics to grab the listeners attention, along with a brand of authenticity, it’s no wonder why King Soloman has the recipe for success. After releasing his mixtape; NYC 2 MIA, back in September of 2019, The King has been working nonstop with no intention of slowing down. Singles such as “Hands of Time” & “I Need That” have helped contribute to over 500,000 Spotify streams and counting. Visually spectacular music videos are always a must, and when it comes to the music production, it’s top of the line. It’s clear that King Soloman is making his mark on the music world.  New York City bred Sal Arena has debuted his first musical works as a feature on “Everything 2020” by King Soloman. Sal’s career began with freelancing at the age of 18 in NYC; first as the headman of his own quartet, then as a player in many different bands of all cultures throughout NYC mainly focused around JAZZ music. Beginning in 2014 Sal studied music performance & music education at Brooklyn College while pursuing a career as a contractor in Brooklyn’s biggest contracting company Empire State Contractors. Freelancing & Construction Contracting is Sal’s day to day in the big apple.     Being a Filmmaker in 2020

On today's episode we are joined by Jonathan Vargas, born in New York City but brought to South Florida at an early age to become the filmmaker that we all know today... Only thing was that he didn't know it at the time. His love for Cinema started around the age of six, from watching Godzilla films on VHS to discovering the greats such as Martin Scorsese, Alfred Hitchcock, Akira Kurosawa and etc. In the years to follow, Jonathan has won awards in both television and film projects such as his short film  “Side Effects” which has won a total of 14 awards at several festivals. As of now, he is currently finishing his debut feature film "Negativity" which he hopes to release by the end of the year.  Now, grab a drink and your favorite snack as we discuss what it  took to make a feature film during the pandemic, and the lessons learned in the process. He was raised in a family of artists and is the son of Daniel Lugo, a prominent Puerto Rican film and television actor. He has trained at the Stella Adler Studio of Acting in NYC and is an alumni of the American Theatre Wing’s SpringboardNYC program. He most recently finished playing the roles of twin brothers Guy and Dre in the short film he co-wrote/produced called They Prefer Richards. Aside from his creative pursuits, Alex also graduated with a B.S. in Mathematics from Florida International University and is a full-time Software Engineer at Square.
