Since then, I’ve had the joy of serving clients from all walks of life, each one reminding me why I love what I do. Their stories, confidence, and vulnerability inspired me to take a leap of faith and open Publicity Wax Studio, a space rooted in inclusivity, body positivity, and a whole lot of community.  I strive to make sure every client at Publicity receives a tailor-made service that leaves them walking out feeling celebrated, empowered, and like the celebrity they already are.  Outside the studio, I’m a proud wife and mom! A role that keeps me grounded, motivated, and full of heart. Balancing mom life and business life has shaped me into the woman I am today: determined, compassionate, and always ready with a little extra warmth and humor. Patrick Evans

Patrick, a native son of Albemarle County, first found his inspiration where most cooks do—at home. Patrick grew up in a farmhouse in North Garden, where family meals and fresh ingredients from the garden shaped his childhood. He moved to New York City to work in the art world, but a business trip to the Galicia region of Spain and a small Michellin-starred restaurant there named Casa Marcelo inspired him to take a different path and bring his art to the world of food. After culinary school, he worked at Blue Hill and 81 Restaurant under Dan Barber and Juan Cuevas, respectively. An interest in bread making brought him to the New York artisan bakery Amy’s Bread. From there, he became Executive Baker for a successful start-up bakery called Choc O Pain, where he helped open two locations in NJ.  Patrick and his husband, Jason Becton, opened MarieBette Cafe and Bakery in 2014. It is named after their daughters, Marian and Betty. In 2019, they partnered with William Darsie to open Petite MarieBette, and in 2024, they opened Sbrocco's Donuts and Espresso with Melissa Portera.
