Contrary to the (thankfully) diminishing belief that science fiction is a predominantly male genre, women have been at the forefront of sci-fi and speculative fiction since before it became a popularized literary category. Sisters of Sci-Fi is a bi-monthly podcast that examines the immense amount of science fiction written by women since the 1600s. In order to cover as many writers as possible, over this enormous expanse of time, rich with options, the show is formatted like a sort of book club, so listeners can plan ahead and read along, or sit back and enjoy the discussions between host L. Stephanie Tait, and her fellow guest-hosts. New episodes will be posted the first and third Tuesday of every month.

A Solid SF/F Show!

The title of the show should give away its focus: SF/F by women! There are a handful of shows doing this very thing, and Sisters of Sci-Fi has carved out a strong corner, diving into SF/F new and old, interviewing/discussions interesting guests, and providing interesting commentary.

I put this one up there with Breaking the Glass Slipper. And tha's a pretty high compliment, cause I love BGS! So if you're looking for an SF/F show with a demographic focus, give this one your time. It's totes worth it.

Oh, boy, I love this pod.

Ok, so I have a LOT of feelings about science fiction and gender and this podcast just... hits every single mark. How much do we need this? A LOT. This should be required listening for every genre nerd.

Love this podcast!

I’m learning so much about the history of sci fi and getting great new book recommendations. Stephanie is a wonderful host to spend an hour with.
