Episode 11 | Growing Up In A Small Town

This week I will discuss what it's like be from a small town and how I matured, dated and SURVIVED (lol) living in a community with a population of less than 500. Cape Broyle is located 50 minutes from St John's (Newfoundlands capital city) and I will discuss the pros and cons followed by some of my current personal experiences and opinons. Including how hard it is to ignore the small town mentality and judgement of close-minded individual's. I will also talk a little about my childhood/teenage experiences of living in a small town and the origin of my own family. Tourism, restaurant and hiking recommendations will follow in the end for the Southern Shore (Irish Loop Drive).

This week I will discuss what its like living with IBS. I will discuss many of the ups and downs of living with a chronic illness, what lead me to get diagnosed, my first symptoms and current symptoms. I will also share some advice on how I moderate my symptoms and discuss the importance of why you should lean on your family and friends for support, when needed. Listen in!

On this episode I will talk about the old me vs the new me. As I have an extremely bold personality, this has created many controversies and downfalls in my life. I will discuss some of the drawbacks to having toxic and hateful personal traits and how I personally came above them. This week I talk about toxic relationships and the signs of gaslighting. I share my own traumatic experience with domestic abuse and how I was strong enough to rise above it all. I hope that by sharing my experience I can help someone get out of a toxic/abusive relationship or help let them know that they are not alone. No real names are disclosed in this episode. TW: description of violent attacks, domestic abuse, depression, PTSD, and binge drinking.

As a careless, kinda dumb, 17 year old I failed my first year of post secondary. Since then, I have completed a 3-Yr Diploma in Marine Environmental Technology & recieved a wonderful scholarship. Listen along for some advice (if you're in post secondary, failing post secondary or just for a simple laugh). This is my first podcast, I don't have a mic yet. Excuse the sniffles & high/low audio in some parts. I am still learning!
