Skagit Storytellers

Skagit Storytellers is a podcast that's dedicated to entertaining the people who are recording it. If anyone else enjoys the episodes, that's cool too. There is no agenda, a lot of exaggerating and probably shouldn't be taken seriously.Recorded in an underground studio filled with vintage typewriters in the heart of the Skagit Valley.Skagit Storytellers is a subsidiary of 217 Digital LLC.Host: Liz DuffyEmail: 217.digital.co@gmail.com Support us on PayPal!

  1. S04 E21: Joe Leroy

    2D AGO

    S04 E21: Joe Leroy

My guest this week is Joe Leroy. He’s been integral in the Valley’s music scene for the last three plus decades. The first local show he saw was Lawn Dart, if you’ve shopped at Hugo Helmer’s the last 25 years, you’ve probably met Joe (He sold Charlie Krengel his first guitar!) and his old band, Funeral for Bugs, played the first Birdstock (along with Bad Chuck). Joe is a sweetheart and I think anyone who’s known him will love this episode. In addition to teaching me some history of the Skagit music scene, he also shares stories of his mom, addiction and loss. Finally, you’ll be treated to three songs and if you want more, he’s just released his debut album under Joe Leroy and the Reconsillers. It’s called “Blue Pipes and Hot Nights” and you can stream it on the major platforms (When he gets his band together and plays a show, you’ll hear it here first).  Enjoy your weekend, be of use, and go do something hard. Love escape rooms? Never tried one? Head to Escapegoatsmonroe.com and tell Lindsay we sent you 🙂 Better yet, use our promo code for a discount when booking: SKAGITSTORYTELLERS If you love music, go see some rad live music at the Arcadian Public House.Love my intro song and my logo? Check out Clay Work. He is incredibly talented. He also hosts Trivia at Lyman Tavern on Tuesdays, and at District Brewing on Wednesdays.  I'm writing a book. April sits on boards of United Way Skagit (unitedwayskagit.org), Rotary in Burlington (show up on Friday mornings!) and would probably attend any event you invite her to. She's a Connector to the utmost degree and the Skagit Valley is a much better place because of her. If you know a veteran who is in need, contact April and she can either help or point you in the right direction: navyvetrealestate.com/ Join April and I (and Rayna and Clay!) at Raise the Roof on April 18th. 4. S04 E16: Tony Moceri

    FEB 7

    S04 E16: Tony Moceri

Tony Moceri came across my radar in December when I found his book "A Wandering Mind" at Barnes & Noble in Bellingham and immediately asked him to be on the podcast. He visited the studio last month for one of the funniest, practical and most inspiring episodes I've recorded. Check out all of his ventures here: tonymoceri.com (Especially his podcast with Melissa!)  From his website: "...I am an entrepreneur, real estate investor, writer, and coach. I’m deeply interested in how people build meaningful lives through work, creativity, and smart decision-making. Over the years, that curiosity has shown up through multiple ventures, including Yard Game Nation, a passion project centered on play, connection, and outdoor community, and Drip Trickle Flow Flood, where I explore income, money flow, and financial mindset with real-world perspective."  If you know Tony, you won't be surprised that this episode jumps around a little bit. We had a blast recording this and if you find Tony's energy as infectious as I do and want to connect with him, do it! "I’m always open to new ideas, collaborations, and opportunities. If you think there’s something I could help with, feel free to reach out, connect with me on LinkedIn, or find me on Instagram at @tonymoceri."  Enjoy your weekend, be of use, and go do something hard. 5. S04 E14: Casey Freedom

    JAN 24

    S04 E14: Casey Freedom

Casey Freedom drove several miles north on Highway 9 to visit the studio to laugh with me and chat about his life, family, and career. He reveals some of his big dreams for 2026 (including a Montana tour), explains why college took longer than it should and plays not one but TWO fantastic songs for my listeners. We also unveil our dream (fake) triple bill at the Shakedown (Casey, Upriver rockers Pretty Much Nothing, and LA's own Watertower), and if Casey doesn't release a studio recording of the Truck Song soon, I'm releasing his cell number and home address to the masses until it's done. Follow him for all his upcoming music news and gigs on IG, Bands In Town, Tik Tok and more here: linktr.ee/caseyfreedommusic Enjoy your weekend, be of use, and go do something hard.
