V-Town Legends

I really enjoyed the Steve Ortega episode. I was raised in Vista, Ca and my older brother grew up skating with Steve and a lot of the H-Street crew. He lived with Steve at some point in their young adult days. I remember Steve being a big scary dude back then haha. My brother used to hook me up with a ton of gear back in the day. No joke I was the only kid walking around in my middle school rocking Poorhouse, XYZ, Droors, Emerica, 8Ball, and whatever else my brother would hook me up with. He never went pro technically but def had hook ups with a lot of these guys. My brother spent his early days skating with Alphonzo Rawls and then eventually started skating with guys like Matt Hensley, Danny and Damon Way, Mario, Jeff McDaniel, Tim Tillman, Chuck Wompler, Brennand Schoeffel etc. etc. later in life. I remember seeing all of these legends around all the time when I was young. It’s funny telling people that lil ol V-Town is the birthplace of all these legends. Hopefully this podcast will get more Vista locals on the show.
