Jeremiah 18–25 | The Potter, the Prophet, and the Coming Judgment

In this Sleepy Scriptures One-Year Bible episode, we continue through the book of Jeremiah with chapters 18 through 25 from the King James Version. Jeremiah is sent to the potter’s house, where he watches a vessel being shaped and reshaped in the craftsman’s hands. Through this simple image, the Lord reminds Judah that nations and people remain in His hands, and that repentance can still change the course of judgment. But Jeremiah’s message brings increasing opposition. He is mocked, threatened, struck, and placed in the stocks, yet the word of God burns within him like a fire that cannot be contained. The prophet wrestles openly with the cost of his calling while continuing to proclaim the truth entrusted to him. These chapters also look ahead to both judgment and hope. Jeremiah warns of Babylon’s coming domination, yet he also speaks of a righteous Branch from the house of David whose name will be called “THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.” Settle in with gentle narration, soothing music, and peaceful visuals as Jeremiah chapters 18 to 25 lead us through the potter’s house, the prophet’s struggles, solemn warnings, and the enduring sovereignty and faithfulness of God. Highlighted Verses Jeremiah 18:6 “Behold, as the clay is in the potter’s hand, so are ye in mine hand, O house of Israel.” Jeremiah 20:9 “Then I said, I will not make mention of him, nor speak any more in his name. But his word was in mine heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones.” Jeremiah 20:11 “But the LORD is with me as a mighty terrible one.” Jeremiah 22:29 “O earth, earth, earth, hear the word of the LORD.” Jeremiah 23:5 “Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch.” Jeremiah 23:6 “And this is his name whereby he shall be called, THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.” Jeremiah 23:23–24 “Am I a God at hand, saith the LORD, and not a God afar off? Can any hide himself in secret places that I shall not see him?” Jeremiah 23:29 “Is not my word like as a fire? saith the LORD; and like a hammer that breaketh the rock in pieces?” Jeremiah 24:7 “And I will give them an heart to know me, that I am the LORD.” Jeremiah 25:11 “And this whole land shall be a desolation, and an astonishment; and these nations shall serve the king of Babylon seventy years.”

Jeremiah 11–17 | Blessed Is the Man Who Trusts in the Lord

In this Sleepy Scriptures One-Year Bible episode, we continue through the book of Jeremiah with chapters 11 through 17 from the King James Version. Jeremiah proclaims that Judah has broken its covenant with the Lord and returned to idolatry. When a conspiracy forms against his life, the prophet brings his fear, grief, and unanswered questions honestly before God. Through drought, famine, false prophecy, and approaching judgment, Jeremiah carries the sorrow of a people who have rejected the fountain of living waters. Yet these chapters also contain enduring words of faith and hope. Jeremiah declares that God’s words were the joy and rejoicing of his heart. He looks ahead to the nations coming to the Lord, and he contrasts those who trust in human strength with those who trust in God—like a tree planted beside the waters, whose leaves remain green even in drought. Settle in with gentle narration, soothing music, and peaceful visuals as Jeremiah chapters 11 to 17 invite us to bring our questions before God, examine the hidden places of the heart, and place our confidence in the Lord who searches, heals, and sustains. Highlighted Verses Jeremiah 12:1 “Righteous art thou, O LORD, when I plead with thee: yet let me talk with thee of thy judgments: Wherefore doth the way of the wicked prosper?” Jeremiah 13:23 “Can the Ethiopian change his skin, or the leopard his spots? then may ye also do good, that are accustomed to do evil.” Jeremiah 14:9 “Yet thou, O LORD, art in the midst of us, and we are called by thy name; leave us not.” Jeremiah 15:16 “Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart.” Jeremiah 16:19 “O LORD, my strength, and my fortress, and my refuge in the day of affliction.” Jeremiah 17:7–8 “Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is. For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river.” Jeremiah 17:9–10 “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins.” Jeremiah 17:14 “Heal me, O LORD, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved: for thou art my praise.” Sleepy Scriptures, Jeremiah 11-17, Jeremiah chapters 11 to 17, Jeremiah KJV, Book of Jeremiah, King James Bible, KJV Bible reading, Bible reading for sleep, Scripture for sleep, peaceful Bible reading, relaxing Bible reading, Christian sleep meditation, one year Bible, Bible in a year, Old Testament reading, prophet Jeremiah, broken covenant, Jeremiah’s lament, words were found and I did eat them, Jeremiah 15:16, tree planted by the waters, Jeremiah 17:7, blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord, deceitful heart, Jeremiah 17:9, heal me O Lord, Jeremiah 17:14, trust in God, Christian meditation, calming scripture, bedtime Bible reading, soothing Bible narration, peaceful Christian video.

Jeremiah 5–10 | Stand Ye in the Ways and See

In this Sleepy Scriptures One-Year Bible episode, we continue through the book of Jeremiah with chapters 5 through 10 from the King James Version. Jeremiah searches the streets of Jerusalem for those who seek truth, but finds a people who have turned away from the Lord. Through the prophet, God warns Judah of approaching judgment, false worship, injustice, and confidence in outward religion without inward obedience. Yet amid these solemn words comes a gracious invitation: “Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way.” Jeremiah calls the people back to faithful obedience, while grieving over their spiritual wounds and asking, “Is there no balm in Gilead?” These chapters also contrast powerless idols with the living God, the everlasting King who made the earth by His power and established the world by His wisdom.
