Small Business Sisters

Thank you guys so much for doing this podcast! I am on my second year of my mobile houseplant shop. I started out listening to a bunch of small business podcasts and yours is the only one that I am still listening to every single week. All of the others seem focused on much larger “small” businesses with lots of money flowing. I am trying to do this without loans or investors so it’s super helpful to hear how you guys have done things and what has worked and not worked for you. Listening to you guys also makes me feel a lot less alone on this entrepreneurial path. Thanks again, you’re the best! ♥️

Thanks for putting on the podcast. I live in Liberty Hill and started following at the end of last year. I own Stephanie’s Accounting PLLC here in town. I think your point of having a limit on how much you donate is VERY important. It’s part of your profitability. But also know that if you are donating (cash) with the intent of advertising then is advertising expense. If donating product then be sure to expense the product to advertising expense. Business owners should absolutely decide how much advertising budget they have each year. Advertising is more than donations. Consider what your objective is for the year when setting the budget. Am I brand new and need to get my name out, higher budget. Am I in maintenance mode, more moderate budget. You get the idea. Thanks for sharing your experience! Wishing you success. Stephanie
