Master Class in Music Biz!

Wayne Martin’s “Small Plates” is a Master Class in how to build the business side of your music career. Wayne is honest, knows the music business, and knows how to teach and motivate. Wayne is here to let you know that there is no “magic wand” you can wave to make your music career take off. YOU have to build it yourself and find key people to work with who buy into your vision. Each episode is a bite-sized tutorial on actionable things you can do to jumpstart the business-end of your career - chock full of resources, truth, and a little humor thrown in. And the artist’s who start each episode off with an intro to themselves and their music are simply wonderful. If you’re serious about making music your life’s work, this is the first place you should start.

Great listen!

Such an educational and entertaining podcast for creatives across a range of fields (not just music). Definitely worth a listen!

Insight from a real insider!

I WISH this podcast was around when I was just starting out. Small Plates is a CRASH course on steps I should have taken when plotting out my career path. I’m not strictly in the music field (actually video) but most of Wayne’s advice seems to apply to me.

So rare it is to have sound advice without some sort of “gotcha” in the background. This is real talk and it isn’t for the faint at heart. It requires artists and professionals to put the hard work in. And it requires you to be brutally honest with yourself.

Listening over the last couple of months has helped me focus on my goals and do my best to cut out the clutter. Slowly I’m building a roadmap to build out my brand.

It’s been fantastic so far and I plan to continue to listen for more. Keep up the great work!
