    Feeling Helpless

    In the first episode of So Typical, Brooke and Abby explain why they started the podcast and talk about feeling helpless and unable to create or inspire change in the world as two teenagers. To explain their feelings and points of view, they draw on the recent Black Lives Matter protests around the US (and world) in the wake of George Floyd’s death. The girls also share their passion for environmentalism and how they can feel discouraged within that movement, too. To get a bit more personal, Brooke describes her experiences trying to explain the BLM to older family members, and Abby explains how she feels anxious about her senior year of high school.
