    Visiting Hours (Luke 19:37-44)

As the crowd shouts "Peace in heaven," Jesus looks at Jerusalem and weeps, because the city whose name means peace cannot see that its peace is standing at the gate. In Luke 19:41–44, the Judge weeps over the sentence he pronounces, and this study asks whether we, like Jerusalem, can cheer for Jesus and still miss the time of our visitation.

A Wee Little Man Was He

One chapter after a rich ruler finds he can't let go of his wealth, Jesus stops beneath a sycamore tree in Jericho and invites himself to dinner at the house of the most despised rich man in town. In this study of Luke 19:1–10, we see grace arrive before any change has happened, and we watch a chief tax collector squeeze through the eye of a needle, because what is impossible with man is possible with God.

    Fairest Lord Jesus

When Peter asks what the disciples will get for leaving everything, Jesus tells the story of a vineyard owner who keeps going back out to hire workers and then pays the one-hour crew the same as those who worked all day. In this study of Matthew 20:1–16, we see that God's kingdom runs on grace, not time cards, and we're asked whether we can rejoice when the Master is generous to someone else.

    Dave Ramsey's Worst Nightmare

In Matthew 18, Jesus compares God’s forgiveness to the cancellation of an impossibly large debt—and then confronts us with what that mercy demands in the way we treat those who have wronged us. We’ll explore what it means to forgive from the heart without confusing forgiveness with restored trust, erased consequences, or permission for continued harm.

    Lost & Found

Jesus tells three stories in Luke 15 — a lost sheep, a lost coin, two lost sons — that all make the same point: finding never depends on the one who's lost, only on someone willing to go looking. Join us as we ask which character in these stories we actually are.

    The Okayish Samaritan

We call him "good," but Jesus never does — he's just a Samaritan who stopped when it would've been easier to keep walking. In this study of Luke 10:25–37, we ask why a religious lawyer's question ("who is my neighbor?") is really a search for the edge of his obligation, and why Jesus answers it by making a despised outsider the hero of mercy. It's a challenge to trade self-justification for costly, sustained compassion — the kind that doesn't ask who deserves it before it crosses the road.

    Jesus on KidsMin

In Mark 10:13–16, Jesus welcomes the children whom His disciples tried to turn away, revealing His deep concern for the young and vulnerable. This study challenges churches and families to remove barriers that keep children from Jesus and to make their spiritual formation a true priority. It also explores what Jesus means when He says that the kingdom of God must be received like a child.

    A Mountaintop Experience

Peter, James, and John watch Jesus transfigured in glory on the mountain — and are told by God Himself to listen to Him. But the story doesn't end on the mountain: it ends in the valley below, where the other nine disciples stand helpless over a boy they can't heal. Tonight we look at how mountaintop clarity and valley failure sit side by side in Matthew 17, and what it means to stay dependent on Christ once the glory fades.

    Who Am I

Tonight we're in Matthew 16:13–20, where Jesus asks his disciples the question that matters more than any other: "Who do you say that I am?" Peter gets the answer right — "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God" — but we'll see that having the right title doesn't mean you've got it all figured out, and that Jesus's promise to build his church rests on his faithfulness, not ours. We'll close by asking a question every believer eventually has to answer: whose church do you think this actually is?

    Bad Bread

A slice of moldy bread raises an odd question: do you toss the whole loaf, or just cut around the spot? Jesus asks his disciples to beware a different kind of contamination — the leaven of two rival religious factions who set aside everything that divided them the moment their authority was threatened. It's a study about the kind of corruption that never announces itself, and why "eat around it" is never actually a safe strategy. Join us this week as Pastor Brian focuses on Matthew 16:1-12

    Walk like a Syrophonecian

In Mark 7:24–30, a desperate Gentile mother approaches Jesus with humble yet persistent faith, trusting that even a crumb of His mercy is enough to deliver her daughter. This study explores Jesus’ challenging words to her, revealing that God’s saving grace—offered first to Israel—was always intended to reach every nation.

    Fear Not, I am!

In Matthew 14:22–33, Jesus walks upon the stormy sea and reveals Himself as the sovereign Son of God, calling His disciples to trust His word above their circumstances. This study shifts the focus from Peter’s brief walk on the water to Christ’s divine identity, reminding us that seeing Jesus clearly should ultimately lead us to worship.
