    The Excellence Equation

Send us Fan Mail In this episode of Solid Start, Greg and Brian welcome Ted Merrell to discuss the true meaning of excellence—doing the best you can with what you have. Ted challenges us to reflect on three gifts God has given each of us—our Time, Talents, and Treasures—and how applying biblical principles can help us use these gifts wisely and faithfully.

    Notice, Served!

Send us Fan Mail What if something as simple as noticing someone could make a lasting impact? On this episode of Solid Start, Greg and Brian welcome special guest Matt Mitchell, who shares his experience joining Merrell Bros. in 2023. On his very first day, Matt didn't know what to expect or even fully understand what was going on. But one thing stood out—the people around him made him feel welcomed, valued, and accepted. That's the Merrell Bros. way. It's about more than the work we do; it's about caring for the people we do it with. This week, Greg challenges us to open our eyes to those around us. Who might be feeling overlooked or left out? Who needs a little encouragement? Don't just notice someone—make the effort to reach out. You never know the difference you might make!

    Your Field of Vision

Send us Fan Mail What is it like to work with you, live with you, or simply be around you? This week on Solid Start, Greg and Brian challenge us to take an honest look at the influence we have on the people around us. Do we create a place where others feel safe, included, valued, and like they truly matter? Whether at work, at home, at church, or in our community, we all have the opportunity to create a sense of belonging for those around us. It’s a personal question we all need to ask: Do people feel like they matter when they’re around me?

    Please Put On A Towel

Send us Fan Mail What if serving others isn’t about being noticed, but about noticing who needs to be served? This week on Solid Start, Greg and Brian discuss what it means to put on the towel and serve. In John 13, Jesus—the King of Kings—knelt down and washed His disciples’ feet, giving us the ultimate example of humble service. How many opportunities pass us by because there’s no recognition, applause, or reward? Whether it’s a coworker, family member, friend, neighbor, or someone at church, we’re surrounded every day by opportunities to follow Jesus’ example. Are you ready to put on the towel this week and serve?

    Hurting in Plain Sight

Send us Fan Mail Sometimes the people around us are carrying hurts we can’t see. In this episode of Solid Start, Greg and Brian look at Jesus’ example in Luke 10:25–37 and challenge us to recognize the needs right in front of us. Are we willing to STOP, LISTEN, and RESPOND? When we give others our TIME, ATTENTION, and COMPASSION, we have an opportunity to show the love of Christ in a powerful and practical way.

    Right Here, Right Now

Send us Fan Mail What does it really mean to be called to serve? In this episode of Solid Start, Greg and Brian look at Luke 10:1–9 and discuss how serving God doesn’t require a passport or a mission trip. As a team from Merrell Bros. prepares to head to Jamaica to build homes and serve local communities, Greg and Brian challenge us to look at the mission field right in front of us. Whether it’s at work, at home, or in our community, we’re all called to serve—and sometimes the greatest opportunities are right where God has already placed us.

Where Is God When It Hurts?

Send us Fan Mail This week on Solid Start, Greg and Brian wrestle with one of life’s hardest questions. When devastating floods take lives, when we lose someone we love, or when a doctor delivers news we never wanted to hear—where is God in the middle of it all? Pain and tragedy have a way of cutting through the noise. Like a megaphone, they remind us how fragile life is and call us to examine where we’ve placed our hope. In those moments, we have a choice: get angry and run from God or turn toward Him. Join Greg and Brian as they discuss how life’s hardest moments can become a wake-up call to realign our lives with Christ, listen for His voice, and trust in Him.

    It's Who We Are

Send us Fan Mail This week on Solid Start, Brian and Marcus look ahead at the exciting growth and changes on the horizon for Merrell Bros. Growth can bring turbulence, but when Christ is our firm foundation, we can weather any storm. When we put Him first—in our business, our lives, and our families—we can move forward with confidence, knowing He is in control. As Merrell Bros. continues to grow, our Christ-centered vision reminds us that there is a place for everyone to grow, serve, and have a seat at the table. No matter how much things change, our foundation remains the same—and the people we serve and work alongside will know WHO WE ARE.
