A BeyHive Moment (Ft. The Kai Rob)

A BeyHive Moment (Ft. The Kai Rob)

Listener's discretion is advised, this bonus episode of SDS is a complete fangirl BeyHive moment between two Beyonce superfans. After a routine IG analysis following the drop of the new Beyonce project - Renaissance: Act I, Philly Shira asked her friend The Kai Rob to be featured on this episode because it was too good and hilarious to not share. It's a series of voice notes and DM banter about the levels of amazing that is this album and all the hype surrounding the release. This is a collection of our most biased and passionate feelings and opinions about Bey and it's not to be taken personally. Take it with a couple grains of salt to the tongue followed by a shot of tequila and a lime wedge. Enjoy this ad free bonus episode!

    Musical Testimony (Ft. One War)

Happy Black History Month! This episode we introduce a new segment entitled "Black History Highlight" where we honor and highlight unsung heroes, figures, icons of Black American History. Philly Shira shares a conversation she had with her uncle and hip hop artist, One War. They share opinions about hip hop from favorites to rap beefs and Verzuz. Somehow they ended up talking about Final Destination and simulations. Intriguing tangents are bound to come whilst having a wonderful conversation in great company. One War promised Philly Shira an album release in the future. You heard it here first lol and on record. In the meantime, tune in for an exclusive listen to One War's unreleased single "Smoke & Money" Featuring Kai Chi!!!!!!

    Navigating the Internet (Ft. Dante)

We are back! After a long and unprecedented hiatus, SDS returns with a special guest. Back in August, Philly Shira called the young homie, Dante, to have an insightful conversation about parasocial relationships, navigating the internet as a young teen and some other topics we spew into tangents about. In this episode Philly Shira gave a shoutout to The Nap Ministry, be sure to check them out on IG @thenapministry and examine the power of naps!

We have a lot more in store for season 2! Stay tuned ~

Bridging Gaps & All That (Ft. Mick)

Bridging Gaps & All That (Ft. Mick)

Can I talk my shit again?!! SDS is back and it's been a while, let's catch up! This season we're trying something new. We're trading interviews for conversations and exchanging structured information for current events. Listeners, expect some structural changes and new segments added to the show in upcoming months!

Today's episode is a conversation generally about the black community and where we stand in America. Philly Shira spoke with her cousin, Mick, about value, gun violence, police brutality and we think of some potential solutions to some of our community/social issues surrounding these topics. He gives his perspective as a young teenager in Philadelphia. This is not an entirely lighthearted episode but it is extremely necessary. It's conducive to our healing and liberation as a community to have conversations about our trauma.

The Education Series Part 3 (Ft. Damien)

In the Season 1 Finale, we are taking a dive into the Matrix with Philly Shira's best friend, Damien Brinson. We are talking passionately about the rights of transpeople, toxic masculinity AND femininity, the concept of spectrums and so much more! Our goal is to educate and correct by sharing factual information and some of our own experiences.

Dame has started his very own nonprofit called Sage Legacy Project to directly support and protect black transwomen. Please donate and share the link to the gofundme below. Anything is everything and it helps, really. www.gofundme.com/help-protect-black-trans-women
