Art Laboratory Berlin is happy to launch a new Podcast Channel in 2023. Each year the podcast will have a theme, and this year’s theme will complement the series Permeable Bodies. Each curatorial team member (Regine Rapp, Christian de Lutz, Tuçe Erel) will interview two artists/scientists, and the series will spread throughout the year. The podcasts, which will be around 20-35 minutes each, will be scheduled and published every last Tuesday of May, June, September, October, and November. The intro and outro jingles are composed by Korhan Erel.

    Sonic Ecologies' season 2 continues with a conversation with Tarsh Bates. The artist reflects about her artistic research with Candida albicans and the more-than-human entanglement with this microorganism and talks about olfaction as interspecies communication, her newest research field. Regine Rapp interviewed Tarsh on 17 March 2024.

    Sonic Ecologies season 2 kicks off with a conversation Sybille Neumeyer. This conversation focuses on the relationship between technology and ecology and how this entanglement manifests in Sybille's artistic practice. Tuçe Erel interviewed Sybille on 17 March 2024.

    Permeable Bodies: Karolina Żyniewicz | Sonic Ecologies - Episode 5

    The fifth episode of Sonic Ecologies welcomes Karolina Żyniewicz, who co-led the Capturing Leakage: Body Flows and Material Investigations workshop with Charlotte Roschka. In this episode, they discuss the workshop after it took place and also talk about the permeability of bodies and how it reflected on the theme of the workshop. The conversation was moderated by Tuçe Erel, and it was recorded on 21 November 2023.

    In this interview series, we would like to inform our audience about our guest artists, scientists and researchers’ interests and how their focus is relevant to our series. Our program, Permeable Bodies, deals with the human body, especially women’s bodies, and their metamorphosis under the biopolitics and body politics of the Capitalocene. The fourth episode of Sonic Ecologies features a conversation with Mooni Perry and Hanwen Zhang, who also participated in the Matter of Flux festival. In this episode, they talk about their practice and their collective AFSAR. This conversation was moderated by Tuçe Erel, and it was recorded on 22 August 2023.

Our program, Permeable Bodies, deals with the human body, especially women’s bodies, and their metamorphosis under the biopolitics and body politics of the Capitalocene. The third episode of Sonic Ecologies features the guests of Permeable Bodies, Flo Razoux, Aouefa Amoussouvi and Nicola Hochkeppel. This episode focuses on menstruating bodies and menopause. Lyndsey is one of the Matter of Flux exhibition artists at Art Laboratory Berlin and tells about their Self-Care art project.
