    Episode 27: Is Religion Still Relevant?

    Walk through the modern West and you will feel it. The churches half-filled, the sanctuaries repurposed, the language of faith softened, replaced, or avoided altogether, surveys announce decline, headlines speak of “the death of religion.”, younger generations claim no affiliation, belief becomes optional, private, negotiable; and yet the hunger for meaning has not disappeared. We still ask ancient questions with modern vocabulary: Who am I? What matters? How should we live? What do we owe one another? What gives life depth beyond survival? So the question before us is not simply, is religion declining? The deeper question is this: is religion becoming irrelevant or is it transforming, mutating, evolving into forms we no longer recognize as “religion” at all? This episode is not a defense of religion, nor an obituary, it is a cultural meditation on what religion has been, what it has lost, what it still offers, and what may yet be emerging.     Episode 26: Does God Change?

    There is a paradox at the heart of faith, across traditions, God is described as eternal, immutable, unchanging and yet, across history, God appears to change constantly. God has been imagined as warrior and shepherd, as king and parent, as judge and lover, as distant lawgiver and intimate presence, as cosmic order and living mystery. If God does not change, why do our images of God evolve so dramatically? Is God being revealed more fully over time or are we projecting our changing consciousness onto the divine? Is God stable while our understanding matures or does the divine itself participate in becoming? This episode explores one of the most profound questions theology can ask not to resolve it, but to sit inside its depth, because how we answer this question shapes how we pray, how we love, how we suffer, and how we imagine meaning itself.     Episode 25: Faith Through the Eyes of a Child

    There is a certain light that belongs only to childhood. A way of seeing the world unguarded, unfiltered, holy in its simplicity. When many of us first learned the language of faith, we learned it as children. Not as doctrine. Not as theology, as wonder, as awe, as comfort, as fear, as belonging, and as story. Even if faith was complicated later in life,even if religion eventually became something we wrestled with, questioned, redefined, or left altogether, there is something unforgettable about faith as a child. The bedtime prayers. The whispered hopes. The sense that the universe was alive, personal, listening. Childhood faith is not naïve, it is imaginative courage. It is the soul’s earliest attempt to make sense of love, fear, mystery, and meaning. Today we revisit that sacred space, not to romanticize it, not to judge it, but to honor it, to understand how childhood faith shapes us, wounds us, nurtures us, and never completely leaves us.     Episode 24: Raised Without Religion

    There are many ways to grow up in the world. Some children grow up surrounded by sacred symbols crosses, prayer beads, candles, scriptures, sanctuaries. They inherit a ready-made story: a cosmology, a moral framework, a vision of ultimate meaning. Others grow up with silence in that space. No prayer before dinner. No weekly worship. No inherited doctrine to anchor the soul. They grow up not in a house of faith, but in a house of curiosity, reason, uncertainty, or simple ordinariness. Sometimes, by design, a conscious break from religious past. Sometimes by indifference faith simply never mattered. Sometimes by trauma religion hurt someone, so it was removed. Sometimes by cultural drift faith simply faded whisper by whisper. Whatever the reason, they grow up secular or “religiously neutral,” or “nothing in particular,” or “spiritual but not defined.” Humans do not stop being meaning-seeking creatures simply because religion is absent. So a different kind of spiritual story unfolds a story without liturgy, without scripture, without inherited rituals, but filled with the same questions: Who am I? What matters? What holds me when life breaks? What does it mean to be good? What does it mean to be alive? Today, we explore that story: the life of a soul raised without religion and the journey of meaning that follows.

    Episode 23: A Convert’s Tale

    There are journeys that begin with a leaving and there are journeys that begin with an arriving. Conversion is both. To convert religiously, spiritually, or existentially is not merely to believe something new. It is to take on a new way of seeing, a new language of meaning, a new understanding of self, God, and the world. For centuries, converts have been feared, revered, misunderstood, celebrated as miracles and condemned as traitors, but beneath the theology and politics of conversion lies something profoundly human. A longing. A rupture. A recognition. A rebirth. This episode is the human being who, through longing or disruption, steps across a threshold and calls a new faith “home.” What drives such a journey?
