Sounds Like Crowes is an actual play podcast where a posse of nerds pretend to be cowboys.
Above all else, we strive for production values. We want the sound that hits your ears to be crisp, and interesting. That means starting with good equipment and recording conditions, and editing all the boring bits out of the gameplay.
We play out a continuing story in the world and system of Deadlands Reloaded. Our goal is to have character driven drama in a horrifying world, with a few laughs along the way. The cast play a group of brothers.
It is hosted by Caleb Sundsted.

A western adventure with a spooky twist
The cast and GM for this actual play podcast really click. The editing is top notch, and the music sets the perfect mood every time. I love that the story is a bit on the more serious side, but the players still feel comfortable cracking jokes. A well balanced drama with an awesome setting. Easily one of my very favorite APs. Check it out!
Best podcast I found in years
Almost since I started listening to actual plays I’ve been searching for one for Deadlands. That search is unequivocally over now that I found Sounds Like Crowes. They came out of the gate with high quality audio, strong story hooks, and amazing character work. Each character seems like they are fully alive, there’s no pause when a question comes up about their backstory or their personality. If you’re looking for a new actual play podcast, you can’t go wrong here.
Exactly what I’ve been looking for
I’ve listened to a bunch of actual play podcasts, and my biggest gripe has always been that they lean a little too far into the comedy side - which is understandable since they tend to be improv groups. I’m only on episode 2 of this podcast and I can tell that it balances plot/character progression with comedy perfectly!
