    Episode 10: Ew, I hate (the) competition!

    Hello and welcome to the final episode of speakeasy’s initial series! In this episode, we’re looking at tournaments/competitions/whatever your word for it is. We’re looking specifically at what they are, where to find them, the scoring system, and other key things to note for when you attend your first comp. This is mostly geared towards what it’s like to be in an in-person comp, but a lot of this is also relevant to online comps! If you’re looking for the cheat sheet, it’s still the same steps.     Episode 8: It's POINT of interest not PERSON, you simp!

    Hello and welcome to the 8th episode of speakeasy, where Josef talks all about Points of Interests. POIs, as we call them, are a critical part of BP debating that allows for diagonal engagement. It is (in Grace’s opinion, at least), one of the most difficult aspects of debating to follow, so be sure to listen carefully!     Episode 5: PMs and LOs and deputies, oh my!

    Hello and welcome to the first speakeasy episode of the new year! We sincerely hope that everyone had a great and fulfilling holiday season, or at the very least, as great and fulfilling as this turbulent time in human history can be. In this episode, we cover the top-half (a.k.a. first-half or opening half) of a debate in BP--specifically the role fulfilment of the first four speakers. If you're in need of a refresher, that's Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister in Opening Government and Leader of the Opposition and Deputy Leader of the Opposition in Opening Opposition (if you need a little more refreshment, head back to episode 1!).
