Consciousness and Trauma - Blaise Kennedy - S2E10

Consciousness and Trauma - Blaise Kennedy - S2E10

    About Blaise Kennedy
Everything exists within my consciousness. My body sits at the very centre of this reality. I live within my body, and my body lives within my consciousness. The purpose of my life is to bring coherence to the inner and outer lives of all beings, so that they may know themselves as the source of their consciousness. Blaise's work is the result of his personal transformation, which began in 2010 when he checked into a drug rehabilitation centre. At 24 years old, and after many years of avoidance, struggle, and difficulty, Blaise was finally ready to face reality. After 5 months of treatment Blaise saw tremendous benefits in every area of his life and experience. He left the treatment centre with one question. “How far and how deep can I take this?” How much transformation is possible? Every moment since then has been the fulfillment, the living answer to his question. Today Blaise shares the most valuable and essential elements of awakening and healing, so that you too may know how far and how deep your life can go.

My Gay Church Days - George Azar - Archive Episode (IG LIVE)

My Gay Church Days - George Azar - Archive Episode (IG LIVE)

George was your average American kid born to traditional Middle Eastern immigrants. Curious about life but tortured by vicious bullying in middle school, he found what seemed like a solution: evangelical Christianity. It appeared to have the cure for his most “shameful sin.” Believing his sexual feelings were an abomination before God, he committed his life to a church community that accepted him, conditionally. While hiding the scariest truths about him for fear of losing their love, he went from Bible study to Bible college, committing every aspect of his life to his faith – even forsaking important relationships “for the sake of the Gospel.” Little did he know that the steady trickle of relinquished identity would create a psychological dysmorphia that allowed his oppressors to keep him in dangerous isolation.
My Gay Church Days is the true story of a profoundly insecure evangelical pastor who eventually decided enough was enough. After failed relationships, crippling anxiety, and cult-like codependency, George broke away from rigid Christianity to pursue the thing he once found most dreadful and fearful about himself. This book is a crusade of revealing, an exploration of conformity, oppression, awakening, and self-discovery unlike any other. Ultimately, it is also a quest to save other “lost souls” by example, calling others to rise above the expectations of others and accept themselves as they are.

Important Conversations

The stories that Andrew shares on his podcast through his guests are important. I have never been a religious person, so I find these stories fascinating for multiple reasons. Hopefully the episodes are finding the ears that need to hear the stories the most.

Empowering Conversations

Andrew is a wonderful host. His patience and kindness open up the space for survivors of religious abuse to vulnerably share their stories. It’s empowering to listen in on these conversations.
