Specificity Matters
Specificity Matters is the podcast of the Gonstead Clinical Studies Society College of Fellows. Hosted by Dr. David A. Fowler, DC, FGCSS, each episode brings the profession's most rigorously credentialed Gonstead practitioners into public conversation—not to repeat slogans, but to defend, examine, and refine what they practice. The show exists to do two things at once. First, it safeguards the foundational concepts Clarence Gonstead built his life's work upon: the disc as the primary lesion, the discipline of specific analysis, and the irreplaceable craft of the hands-on adjustment. Second, it holds those concepts up to the light of current scientific and philosophical thought, because a tradition worth preserving is one that can withstand honest scrutiny. Expect frank discussion of biomechanics and clinical reasoning, the art of the adjustment and the tactile skill that no protocol can replace, and the enduring elements of the Gonstead method that deserve to be carried faithfully across generations. The Fellows featured here name their sources, argue their positions, and take seriously the question every clinician should ask: does the evidence hold? If you want the Gonstead method presented with conviction and examined without flinching, this is your seat at the table.
