    Tick Tock, Wind the Clock.

Tick Tock, Wind the Clock.   Spellboundish Episode 32.   Ahoy there, audio adventurers, intrepid listeners, and people who have accidentally wandered in here while looking for something else! Welcome back to another instalment of the Spellboundish contents list.   Last episode, I experimented with an audio contents list, and rather surprisingly, the world didn't end. Encouraged by this unexpected technological triumph, I've decided to tinker with the idea a little further. Nothing major, mind you. Just a tiny tweak. A teeny-tiny, barely noticeable, possibly ill-advised adjustment. Probably. You see, a thought wandered into my head the other day, took its shoes off, made itself comfortable, and refused to leave. What happens if you download an episode and squirrel it away on your device for listening to later? Lovely! You've got your audio treasure safely tucked away, ready for whenever the mood strikes. But what if you want to find a particular section? You might know what's lurking inside the episode, but you don't necessarily have the handy-dandy description from the episode's front page to tell you where everything lives. Fancy finding chapter two of Back 2 Beyond? Excellent! But where, precisely, is it hiding? Without any timings to guide you, you could find yourself scrubbing backwards and forwards through the audio like a confused DJ who's misplaced the music, lost the headphones, and accidentally put the cat in charge of the sound desk. And so, dear listeners, a plan began to form. A plan involving timestamps. Yes, timestamps! Those marvellous little numerical signposts that tell you where you are, where you've been, and how far you must travel before reaching the next audio destination. The idea is to announce the timings as part of the audio contents list, giving you a handy little roadmap through the episode. Now, I appreciate that having minutes and seconds read aloud into your ears might sound a smidge peculiar. But this is Spellboundish. Peculiar isn't a bug around here. It's practically a lifestyle choice. So let's give it a whirl! I'll be including audio time markers throughout this episode's contents list. I say markers because, once everything has been assembled and stitched together, the timings might be a few seconds out. Hopefully, they'll be reasonably well behaved. However, we are talking about me here, and human error is a particularly enthusiastic little gremlin. It has a habit of appearing when you least expect it, usually carrying a spanner and looking rather pleased with itself. Still, what's the worst that could happen? Don't answer that. It all sounds so wonderfully simple, doesn't it? Well, simple if you're a patient octopus with eight arms, twelve brains, and a suspiciously efficient filing system. For yours truly, it's more of a technological game of hopscotch, involving several invisible obstacles, a handful of questionable decisions, and the occasional urge to put my head in a bucket. But onwards we go! If this little experiment behaves itself and proves useful, I'll include timestamps in every future episode of Spellboundish's audio contents list. Assuming the technology cooperates, of course. And assuming I remember how I did it in the first place. Let's not get carried away with the optimism. Right! Enough of my preamble-shaped rambling. Put the kettle on, adjust your headphones, locate your favourite listening position, and prepare to venture forth into the audio wilderness. It's almost contents-listing time!    *Important little footnote!* That running time doesn't include the audio contents list, as well its easier for me, plus as you'll be listening to it first, does it need a time marker?    So, not including the audio item, the total listening experience is around  two hours, five minutes, and twenty-nine seconds.    Or let's just say it's long enough to require refreshments, provisions, and possibly a small expedition team.    So, there's a rather substantial feast of audio awaiting your ears, so make yourself comfortable, grab a cuppa, locate the biscuit tin, and perhaps warn the neighbours that you'll be otherwise occupied for a while. If anyone asks, you're conducting important audio research. And who am I to argue?   Now then, what treasures, oddities, and miscellaneous audio-shaped objects are lurking inside this episode? Let's take a little wander through the contents, shall we? 1. The Audio Contents List. Yes, that's right! The first item on the contents list is the contents list itself. It's a bit like opening a present only to discover that the present contains a smaller present, which contains another present, which contains a note explaining how to open the first present. Perfectly logical. Absolutely. Nothing strange about that whatsoever. Except this time, our audio contents list has an extra trick up its sleeve: individual time markers to help you navigate the episode. We're getting fancy now, folks! Fancy in a slightly wonky, home-assembled, held-together-with-enthusiasm sort of way, but fancy nonetheless. A quick note about the timings: To keep everything as straightforward as possible, the clock starts ticking from the beginning of the intro music and continues throughout the episode's contents. So, if you're following along, that's where our little audio adventure begins. No need to fetch a stopwatch, a sundial, or an unusually cooperative pocket watch. I've done the fiddly bit for you. Well, most of it. Probably.   2. The Spellboundish Intro Music   Time marker: 00:00 – 00:03:56 First up, we have the Spellboundish intro music! Our musical welcome mat, audio starting pistol, and gentle nudge to let you know that things are about to get underway. It's time to perk up those ears, settle into your listening chair, and prepare for whatever peculiarities the episode has in store. The music is your signal that the Spellboundish machinery is warming up. Somewhere, a metaphorical curtain is opening. Somewhere else, a metaphorical stagehand is frantically looking for a metaphorical screwdriver. And we're off! 3. Mog's Musings   Once the music has done its thing, it's time for the editorial: Mog's Musings! Prepare yourself for the machinations of your favourite editor, Mog. Machinations! Go on, say it aloud. Machinations. Now say it three times quickly. If your tongue has staged a formal protest by the end of the exercise, please submit all complaints in writing. This is our customary introduction to proceedings, where thoughts are mused, words are worded, and whatever else needs doing gets done. It's the editorial equivalent of opening the doors, switching on the lights, and checking that nobody has accidentally parked a metaphorical tractor in the hallway. What might Mog have to say this time? Well, that's what the listening is for! I'm merely the person pointing you towards the appropriate patch of audio. Time marker: 00:03:56 – 00:12:14 4. Back 2 Beyond — Chapter Seventeen   Now we venture into the world of Back 2 Beyond, with the first outing of this episode! We're at chapter seventeen of our ongoing saga, and joining us on this particular narrative expedition are Rocky B, Felix, a sprinkling of familiar faces, and a few new arrivals who've decided to wander into the story. Because apparently, the existing cast wasn't keeping things complicated enough. Who are these newcomers? What are they up to? What are they planning? And, most importantly, will everyone behave themselves? Ha! Of course they won't. This is Spellboundish, after all. Expect the unexpected, keep your ears peeled, and remember that when a collection of characters starts gathering in one place, somebody is almost certainly about to do something that will require explaining later. Possibly at considerable length. But that's all part of the fun! Settle in and enjoy chapter seventeen of Back 2 Beyond. Time marker: 00:12:14 – 00:44:47   5. Calming Corner   After that little narrative adventure, we arrive at Calming Corner. Ah, Calming Corner! A name that suggests soothing thoughts, gentle reflections, and perhaps a nice cup of tea accompanied by the distant sound of birds chirping. Lovely. However, I feel duty-bound to issue a small warning. This particular offering might not be quite as calming as the name implies. Sometimes, a little something to ponder can be far more useful than a metaphorical pat on the back and a soothing beverage. Not every helpful thought arrives wearing fluffy slippers and carrying a cushion. Some thoughts turn up, pull up a chair, and ask awkward questions. And sometimes, those are precisely the thoughts worth listening to. So, make yourself comfortable, open your mind, and see what you make of this instalment. No pressure. No homework. No requirement to achieve instant enlightenment before the kettle boils. Just a little space to think. Time marker: 00:44:47 – 00:52:54 6. The Baker's Dozen   Next, we shuffle into the kitchen for The Baker's Dozen! Now, before you go reaching for your apron, dusting flour off the worktop, and warming up the oven, I should probably mention that there aren't any new recipes this time around. I know. Tragic. The culinary cupboards aren't exactly bursting with fresh offerings, and the recipe fairies appear to have taken an unscheduled tea break. Perhaps they're on strike. Perhaps they've run out of flour. Perhaps they've all gone off to make tiny sandwiches. Who knows? The important thing is that the kitchen hasn't closed permanently. There may yet be more deliciousness to come, so don't abandon your mixing bowls just yet. For now, there are no new recipes to add to your collection, but there's still plenty of room for future culinary adventures. So put the whisk down gently, leave the apron within reach, and resist the temptation to eat the contents list

    Oggy! Oggy! Oggy!

Oh dear, I’ve had a sit down, a think, consumed several mugs of tea, stared thoughtfully into the middle distance, and decided it’s time to give the podcast episodes a tiny bit of a revamp from here on in...   Well, it was bound to happen eventually, - I’ve finally, better grasped the AI nettle!    I know each episode is now voiced by AI, sparing you all from my questionable vocal talents. (You’re welcome).    Now, I’m experimenting with AI to jazz up the blurb you’re currently reading, in the hope of luring a few more unsuspecting listeners into the Spellboundish podcast rabbit hole...     And so, to Episode 30! Weighing in at a hefty 2 hours, 15 minutes and about 44 seconds, this episode is genuinely all thriller and no filler. Not a bit of fluff in sight.   And you can trust me on that, because I wrote the blooming thing. One important update: the Baker’s Dozen section has had a bit of a haircut, with all the unnecessary audio blubber trimmed away. Leaner, cleaner, and straight to the good stuff.   So, pop the kettle on, settle yourself in, and have a gander at the contents list below. I promise you, this episode is a corker.
