An inebriated exploration of Frank Herbert's Dune. Join our hosts Mike and Derek each week as they open a new bottle of wine and have a bit of a buzzed book club.
Never read Dune? No worries, neither has Mike.
Whether you are new to Dune, or you already know how to wear your stillsuit desert style; this podcast has something to offer.
Pulling from the long out of print, Dune Encyclopedia, we can tell you stories such as: Who was Holtzman? What is it like on a Guild spaceship? How did the Baron come to power?
We will be revealing some spoilers along the way, but Derek promises not to ruin any great twists in the book. After all this is Mike’s first time reading the book, and part of the fun is letting this world and its mysteries grow around you.
While Mike embarks on a 6-month Hajj on the Appalacian Trail, please enjoy this 11 part series of our secret Between 2 Dunes catalog. This is a series Derek and Mike produced for Patreon while reading the first Dune book. Look out for a new episode every 2 weeks.

reading dune for the first time. Really enjoying going from the book to this podcast chapter by chapter
Beware of SPOILERS!
Really interesting deep dive into all things Dune, but was so disappointed to hear so many spoilers already in the first episode. Later I see they buried that fact into the last paragraph of their long show description. Should be the first line in all caps. Might be good to listen AFTER you’ve read all the books, just beware. Ruined it for me :(
It’s good but I dislike how the guy that’s already read Dune will allude to things (sometimes somewhat explicitly) later in the book that -while not giving away the largest plot points- make me regret listening.
I really dislike the lack of any sort of spoiler warning. I dislike when there’s mysteries within the story that I don’t get to blindly experience when I listen to this. It’s especially bad when they’re talking speculatively about future events or what a character might be planning or thinking. Often, it subsequently becomes obvious when the newbie suggests something and the other pushes back in a not-so-subtle way.
Please consider changing this somehow, wether it be adding a warning to episodes (several podcast hostess will let you add audio chunks to previous episodes) or just being more mindful of the way you present information.
