But holy kitty cats is it close! Really excellent sound design/quality. Love the atmosphere. The characters are unique and great, I don’t think there was a single character I really thought was poorly written. The plot was cool, real different and the theme song is real fun. Definitely recommend listening to this show. The only gripe I had is kinda my fault maybe but I often had trouble keeping track of which character was which with characters switching bodies and all the characters either having British or American accents without much distinction as to why or what kind of characters have those accents. Again, this is a really great show and I highly recommend giving it a listen!

Stick with it. Because Malachi is sooo Malachi, it’s a little hazy in the beginning of the first episode where it’s going to land. There’s definitely a point slightly further in where you can fall into this world that’s very similar to our own (as long as you don’t stare at the edges too much). The listener gets to follow the characters around as they tiptoe past trouble and try to uncover secrets. The music is beautifully spooky and folksy. Eventually, a scooby gang forms and the relationships get enjoyably messy. Despite the dark themes of exploring the boundaries of personhood and autonomy, it has more Freaky Friday energy than Severance/Westworld/Give Me Way. S1 is a full story, and could be listened to as a finished podcast. It’s not clear if S2 will get made, but it would be cool if it did!

Delighted to have found it. Great storyline, excellent voice acting and intriguing narrative!

This podcast is absolutely incredible. I became obsessed in the first 15 minutes and listened to the first 11 episodes in less than 24 hours. It had me screeching and wailing while washing dishes at work, and that was even before the twist in episode five, which had me screaming WHAT THE F*** repeatedly in the cracker barrel parking lot at 11:30 pm while waiting for my roommate to get out of work. I am absolutely in love with the characters and the concepts and the plot. I just finished episode 13 and I was literally shaking, crying, and sobbing while driving at work (and then I had to go to someone's door and act like I was fine). I rarely cry for fiction, let alone this strong of a reaction. My chest actually hurts. I'm also in love with the theme song. Every episode I would rewind and listen to it multiple times before letting the rest of the episode play. I am definitely relistening as soon as I emotionally recover from that finale.
