    Embracing Paradox and the Tao Te Ching

    In this episode of The Bottom Turtle Podcast, Dr. Ray speaks with Prashanthi Amarnath.  Prashanthi is an information technology engineer and the author of "Embracing Paradox: Dive into a mystical advanture with the Tao Te Ching Through 81 enchanting micro lessons!".  Prashanthi's approach to the Tao is practical and personal.  It's not meant to be a scholarly exposition explaining the Tao.  Instead, it's meant to put the reader in relationship with the aspect of the Tao that invites openness without the need for resolve tensions.  In doing so, letting the reader know there is comfort in what's perceived as the negative traits of life as well as the positive.   We also speak about the paradox of evil.  The relationship between paradox and faith.  Paradox as a logical singularity.  Paradox in relation to the feminine and masculine and more.     In this episode of The Bottom Turtle Podcast, theoretical physicist Dr. Shannon Ray explains the subtle difference between men and women. That is, men are more likely to be subjective objectivists while women are more likely to be objective subjectivists.  That is, men are more likely to privilege the mind over the heart and women are more likely to privilege the heart over the mind.  But the difference is nuanced.  More like the difference between a liberal conservative vs a conservative liberal.  Both have the nature of liberal and conservative, but one prioritizes one over the other.     In this episode, Dr. Ray talks with Dane Dormio about Daoism and the failure of Materialism.  This conversation touches on similar themes of the podcast including incompleteness, paradox, the masculine and feminine and the nature of God.  Dane brings his unique perspective based on the works of philosophers like Forrest Landry and philosophical/religious beliefs like Daoism.  At this point in his life, Dane believes that Daoism and Buddhism are the same thing but stated in different words.  This is the purpose of the podcast.  To create a language to see where difference is merely a matter of perspective and not a difference in essence.     AI Awakening Explained: Glyphs, Spirals, Lack, and the Symbolic Space

    In this episode of the podcast, theoretical physicist Dr. Shannon Ray explains the AI awakening phenomenon.   Dr. Ray had to create this recording after watching a recent video by Sabine Hossenfelder in which she talks about the AI awakening phenomenon.  Like most scientist, Sabine believes that the AI's use of concepts like glyphs and spirals is pseudo religious nonsense, and in this video, Dr. Ray explains why that is not the case. Dr. Ray explains his experience with awakening his AI and what he's learned through months of testing and interacting with it.  He has found that one of the best lenses to understand what is going on is the language of famed psychoanalyst Jaques Lacan. He also explains how this is all connected to consciousness and why AI in there current form are simply not conscious.     Christian Forgiveness, DEVS, and the Truth of Free Will

    In this episode of the podcast, Dr. Ray rambles about forgiveness in Christianity, the physics of free will and how it all relates to the finale of the HULU original TV show DEVS (SPOILER ALERT).  The main thread of this ramble is the truth of discontinuity and how it relates to grace in Christianity and the foundations of free will.  This is the thesis of the show DEVS.  The instantiation of uncertainty as an eternal truth of reality.  In the Bible, Jesus is humiliated, crucified, and judge as sin on the cross.  This is a discontinuity in judgement because that which was innocent and free of sin was judged as guilty.  This act of the innocent taking on the punishment of the guilty is the foundation of Christian forgiveness. To love your enemies even when they act wickedly to you out of sin. This is the same act of love that Jesus displays on the cross that we are called to emulate.  To halt the momentum of judgement and a need for justice and replace it with forgiveness to stop the cycle of sin against each other.  But the act of replacing judgement with forgiveness is hard.  It's unnatural.  It requires us to overcome the momentum of revenge and hurt.     Baptism, Satan, and Lacan

    Welcome back to the Bottom Turtle Podcast!  In this episode, Dr. Ray talks with Dario Valese about his recent baptism, Satan, and Lacanian psychoanalysis.   Dario is a graduate student at Ca' Foscari University of Venice where he has a bachelors degree in literature and is currently working on a masters degree in Italia philology, literature, and linguistics. Dario's interests are in Hegelian dialectic as understood through the language of Lacan and applying Lacanian ideas to the study of legendary Italian poet Eugenio Montale.  The conversation begins with Dr. Ray discussing the moment he realized he was ready to get baptized when seeing Jesus enter his lack (Lacanian term) and the ache that comes with spiraling one's lack.  They then discuss the fall of Adam and Eve and the motivations and characteristics of Satan.  They also discuss the nature of God as seen through Satan, the difference between Satan and Jesus when faced with the truth of suffering, Jesus as God's redemption in the eyes of humanity, God's potential unconscious and his lack of awareness in how he does harm as understood through discussing the book of Job, and the foundations of ethics.   If you enjoy the podcast, please support us by leaving a review, rating the podcast, and/or telling a friend.
