Steps to trusting is a place where we explore how to take active steps in our faith and trusting God.  Taking steps to trusting could be letting go of something you have always wanted.  It could be taking on something you never expected or thought you could handle. However, it is always a turning from the path of our own desires to set our eyes on God and follow after Him.  At steps to trusting, we want to encourage each other to active steps in our faith,  to follow the one who is trustworthy and help each other figure out the character of the God that we follow. I hope that you will join us as we continue to explore how to take active steps to trusting.

    It's not about you!

    It's not about you!

Identity, worthiness, being enough- It's not about you and what you can do but about what God can do in you!
This is so counterintuitive.  We put pressure on ourselves and are disappointed by our failures or mistakes because we fall short.  We want to prove we are worthy but the problem is we are not.  What if becoming who we have always wanted to be includes confessing that we are not enough and turning to God in our lack.
You will find this truth in John 3 as we look at an example of the truth that we have been talking about.  What we behold can affect what we believe, how we behave and who we become.   In John 3, Nicodemus sees something in Jesus and draws a conclusion about him.  Let’s listen in and see how Jesus directs Nicodemus to understand what he sees in Him.

    Journaling Questions:
    ·      What is the place you are looking for your identity?
    ·      Is it truth?
    ·      Are we beholding the truth of who Jesus is?
    ·      How does Jesus’ humanly impossible answer (to be born again) affect you?
    ·      Are you trusting something other than Jesus to make you good enough?
    ·      What would looking to Jesus as the way provided as our deliverance/salvation mean to you?
    ·      Are there places in your life this has already impacted?
    ·      Are there places in your life you still need to let this truth sink in?

Can I Trust God with my Identity? With Tori Hein

Can I Trust God with my Identity? With Tori Hein

Join Tori and I as we discuss a common struggle of feeling defined by our actions combined with the truth of where God meets us in this struggle.  For many, the struggle within drives us to perform and strive.

Check out the 4 B’s Tori introduced to help us break this pattern or belief.
    Behold
    Believe
    Behave
    Become
I love this reminder that setting our heart and minds on God (beholding Him) will affect what we believe, how we behave and who we become.

Grateful for this Ministry

Each episode has spoken to me on such a deep level, has provided fantastic resources for me to explore and has given me practical questions to reflect on. Prior to Covid-19 bringing life to a halt, we had been searching for a church home. I have felt lonely and disconnected for the past two years, especially as my life has been increasingly devoted to the needs of my young children (5, 2, 10 months), husband and home, leaving little time or energy for self care. These reminders of who God sees us as and how, even in this challenging season, I can trust Him and know that he has a purpose in store for my life. Erin is faithful to include scripture, is vulnerable to share her personal experiences and provides insights from other real, believing women. I’ve been blessed by this podcast and encouraged in my faith journey.
