Where are you - Ft. Pastor Kait

In this episode Pastor Stephen and Pastor Kait dig into the questions that came up while preapering and preaching thier youth sermons : Why would God put the tree in the garden at all? Why didn’t He just get rid of Satan? Is all sin really a good desire twisted, or are some things just evil? Does it matter if Genesis 3 is literal? And what did we actually inherit from Adam? Most of all, they talk about the very first question God ever asks in the Bible: “Where are you?” The first thing we did was hide. The first thing God did was come looking.

    The Unlikely Convert

Saul held the coats while they stoned Stephen. Then he wrote half the New Testament. We dig into his conversion, the 500 witnesses, and why the early church trusted him as Scripture almost immediately.

    Crazy Love - ft. Abigail

In this episode, Stephen and Adam welcome a special guest to the show — Abigail, our new youth pastor — for a conversation on Crazy Love by Francis Chan. The book asks a simple but uncomfortable question: if we genuinely believed how big God is and how relentlessly He loves us, would our lives actually look any different? Stephen, Adam, and Abigail walk through the book's biggest ideas, from resetting how small we are next to God, to Chan's convicting "Profile of the Lukewarm," to what it actually looks like to live obsessed with Jesus instead of just comfortable with Him. Abigail brings a youth ministry lens to the conversation, especially around what "lukewarm faith" looks like in the next generation. Expect some pushback, some conviction, and a challenge to walk away from safe, easy Christianity for good.

    Elijah

This week, Pastor Stephen and Pastor Adam dig into the story of Elijah — the prophet most people only know as "the guy who called down fire from heaven." They walk through the whole arc: the ravens that fed him in hiding, the widow whose flour never ran out, the showdown with 450 prophets of Baal on Mount Carmel, and the fire that fell in front of the entire nation. But the real conversation happens right after the victory, when Elijah collapses into fear and despair and asks God to just let him die. Stephen and Adam talk through what it means that God met him there not with a rebuke, but with rest, food, and a whisper — and what that says about how God meets us in our own burnout today. They also connect Elijah's story to Jesus, including his appearance alongside Moses at the Transfiguration.

    Jonah

In this episode of Stevos Devos, we dive into the story of Jonah, going beyond the fish to explore what this story actually teaches us about listening to God. We set the scene in the ancient world, look at why Jonah ran from God's command, explore his journey from Joppa to Tarshish, the storm, the great fish, Nineveh's repentance, and Jonah's struggle with God's mercy. But the bigger question is one we all have to wrestle with: What do we do when God speaks and we don't like what He says? We look at how Jonah heard God's voice, resisted it, ran from it, eventually obeyed, and discovered that God's purposes were much bigger than he understood. We also follow Nineveh's story beyond Jonah and see how Jesus Himself later uses Nineveh and Jonah as an example, ultimately pointing us toward something greater than Jonah. The episode ends by bringing the story into our lives today: How does God speak to us now, and are we actually listening? Key Scriptures: Jonah 1 to 4, Matthew 12:38 to 41, James 1:22, Hebrews 1:1 to 2.

    Experiencing God - ft. Kait

This week on Stevos Devos, Pastor Kait joins the podcast as we dive into one of the most influential Christian books of the last few decades, Experiencing God by Henry Blackaby and Richard Blackaby. What does it actually mean to experience God? Is it about chasing emotional moments, or is it about recognizing where God is already at work and joining Him? Together, we discuss Blackaby's seven realities of experiencing God, discerning God's voice, obedience, and why following God often requires faith before understanding. Pastor Kait also shares practical insights on recognizing God's activity in everyday life and how believers can grow in a deeper relationship with Christ. Whether you've read Experiencing God or are hearing about it for the first time, this episode will challenge you to move beyond simply knowing about God and begin living a life that responds to where He is already at work. Key Scriptures: John 15:5, John 5:19, Matthew 28:18 to 20, Hebrews 11:6.

    The Blue Parakeet

In this episode of Stevos Devos, we're reviewing The Blue Parakeet by Scot McKnight, a book that challenges us to rethink the way we read the Bible. Do we approach Scripture looking for verses that support what we already believe, or do we allow God's Word to shape and transform us? Together, we explore McKnight's central ideas about reading the Bible as one unified story, the importance of context, and why difficult passages shouldn't be ignored but embraced as opportunities to know God more deeply. Whether you've read The Blue Parakeet or not, this conversation will encourage you to move beyond simply reading the Bible and toward faithfully living its story. Key Scriptures: Luke 24:27, Hebrews 4:12, Romans 12:2, Acts 17:11.
