StillPoint Logic Podcast

Hila Eigner

Some days your own head is the hardest place to be. You replay conversations, talk yourself out of things before you even try, and understand what you should feel while feeling something completely different. StillPoint Logic is a podcast for anyone who has been there. Each episode explores thought patterns that influence how you feel, and works through them with reflection and logic. The ideas are practical and meant to become tools you return to when you are stuck, overwhelmed, or doubting yourself. I am your reflection companion, and I hope this podcast makes you feel good.

Half the Credit: Stop Handing Your Success Away to Luck (S2 E13)

Autumn brings a season of reflection for me. Recently, while writing for the show, I caught myself falling into an old rule: whenever something goes wrong, I take 100% of the blame, but when something goes right, I hand the credit away to luck, timing, or circumstance. Even now, I catch myself sitting at a 50/50 split, giving luck half the credit for things like graduating with honors, being promoted, or sustaining long-term friendships. These are achievements that took years of my hard work. In this episode I reflect through my personal process of confronting this "learned smallness." I share the 5-step cognitive framework I'm using to stop shrinking my own effort, alongside Friedrich Nietzsche’s insight on outgrowing limiting versions of ourselves. If you’ve ever talked yourself out of your own strength just to stay safe or avoid feeling arrogant, I hope this conversation helps you step closer to owning your wins. In this episode, I cover: My struggle with splitting credit with luck on hard-earned achievementsThe concept of learned smallness and why keeping yourself small isn't safetyA 5-step reflection exercise to look at your wins with directly How Nietzsche’s philosophy on growth inspires us to move past old beliefs Enjoy, Hila I'm not a therapist. Think of this as guided self-reflection, and me as your reflection companion. #StillPointLogic #HilaEigner #LearnedSmallness #ImposterSyndrome #CognitiveReframing #Nietzsche #Overthinking #SelfDoubt #InnerDialogue #PersonalGrowth
