    Seeing McKinley Pt.1

Episode 7! Here we go Stoopkids! Thanks for tuning into another episode. I know with what's going on in the world right now there are a lot of feelings and emotions. And I hope that you've been able to express your feelings to your family and friends. Talking it out always helps us feel better Stoopkids and StoopParents alike. So I want to introduce you to my friend McKinley, Mickey for short. In this episode, she realizes, kind of for the first time, that she's different and experiences something called microaggressions. Microaggressions is a big word that means when someone says or does something mean or negative to another person based on their race, gender or religion. It's not fair or fun to deal with. Listen to how Mickey deals with this situation and let me know if you've ever experienced anything like this. Be sure to follow on IG and Twitter @StoopkidStories. Also, if you are an artist and love to draw send us a picture of a drawing based on one of the stories. I would love to see it! #FanArt

Love it!

This is a wonderful new podcast that came at such a good time for those of us looking for more diversity in what our kids listen to, read, etc. My son (who just turned 5) listens to and requests Stoopkids every day ! He’s very sensitive to anything even remotely scary so his favorites are the BB twins, the Spelling Bee and saving T-Zone. Great themes that I really appreciate as our family is mixed ethnicity and we live in an overwhelmingly white community. He’s always repeating little phrases or words that when I ask oh where did you hear that? “Stoopkids”! Thank you and keep up the good work! Much appreciated to have a few episodes with no bullies or any potential scary things :)

So well written!

Melissa, I am going to recommend this to all of my educator friends and to the many school librarians that I know! Very well written! Relatable characters and themes! I’ve listened to the first two episodes and I am hooked! Excellent job! I taught 2nd and 3rd grade for many years and I know that age group will love this!

Inspiring!

This podcast is so awesome! Melly tells fun and awesome stories, and she is super energetic. Not only are the stories super awesome, but they have amazing morals about things from a-z. The stories about racism are truly moving. I have a kids stories podcast as well (Whenever Wherever Kids Podcast), and it is so inspiring to see another beginner podcast get so many good reviews, and so many patrons so fast! Keep up the good work Melly, and thanks for all you do! #StorytellingPodcastsUnite
