Lisa Hopkins: Releasing Your Limiting Beliefs

A limiting belief is just that. A belief that you once had that no longer serves you and is currently limiting your potential. They aren’t by nature evil or nefarious. They are hardwired to keep you safe. But even with the best of intentions if gone unchecked, they can take us down.

My next guest is an award-winning actor, writer, comedian and producer from Toronto, Canada. He has performed on stages all over North America and can be seen in award-winning television shows and films on networks such as: CBC, Netflix, Amazon, USA Network and BBC America. Fourteen years ago in March of 2008, a tumor the size of a grapefruit was found resting on his heart. He was 25. The diagnosis: stage III acute non-Hodgkin's T-lymphoblastic lymphoma, an aggressive form of cancer that would require equally aggressive chemotherapy treatment over the next two years of his life. His Canadian Comedy Award–winning one-person show, Cancer Can’t Dance Like This,  toured across the country for ten years, playing in almost every major city in Canada and parts of the US, while raising over $100,000 for cancer-related charities. Most recently, he has penned his memoir called, The Comedian vs Cancer – The Show Must Go On, which is available now on Amazon and all major online book distribution platforms. The Comedian vs Cancer is Daniel’s first book.

AJ Smith: The Intersection of Head & Heart

AJ Smith: The Intersection of Head & Heart

AJ Smith turned down scholarships to some of the top engineering programs in the country in order to pursue the study of music at NYU. With scholarships from the Songwriters Hall of Fame and Carole Bayer Sager Foundation, he was able to pursue a degree in songwriting and it was there where he found life-changing mentors in the late Glenn Frey and hit songwriter Phil Galdston, self-released his first EP “Dragons in the Sky”, had a #3 hit in Australia with “Summertime”, opened for The Eagles at the Beacon Theatre, performed in the off-Broadway and West End hit Close to You: Burt Bacharach Reimagined, learned some more instruments (he plays 10 now), and graduated with one of America’s first Masters Degrees in Songwriting. His songwriting and performance abilities have earned multiple awards, including the prestigious Abe Olman Scholarship from the Songwriters Hall of Fame and he was a semi-finalist ranking in the 2020 International Songwriting Contest. Oh and did I mention he served as a Young Associate Violinist to the National Symphony Orchestra while simultaneously serving as an Engineer and Infrared Systems Developer for the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory...in high school?

Lisa Hopkins: TAKING THE PRESSURE OFF OF FLOW

Despite what the billion dollar mindfulness industry promises, FLOW is not a destination. There is no mantra, mindfulness program or affirmation that will get you there and there certainly is no one size fits all for every occasion.

Talking with Rodney Hicks

Lisa’s discussion with Rodney Hicks brought up so many important and powerful aspects of how to live life I will have to listen to this podcast a couple more times.
The concept of a default life is also something for me to ponder.
Thank you Lisa and Rodney for sharing your ideals and wisdom.

Redefining Courage

I found this short piece so relevant today! Courage can be for something big or just the decision to shower. It was as exactly what I needed to hear. Forwarded it to several friends of various generations. Lisa is talking to all of
us. Each of her gives me something to think about.

Inspiring!!

Love this podcast!!! The conversations with her amazing selection of guest is very insightful and fun. I ‘m impressed by Lisa’s short segments which contain such an impactful message for such a short time. My favourite was the Korean story she just happened to find in her rented house. Really wonderful story!! You will always come away with something to think about and most likely something that hits home.
