UPDATE: A Year Later — Honoring Shirley, My Current Services & What’s Next (Including Senior Legacy Documentation)

After a year away, I’m finally sitting back down at this microphone to share where I’ve been, why this podcast paused, and where it’s headed next. This project has always been a labor of love, born from the belief that so many stories die with our loved ones.  Even with just two episodes out in the world, your emails, texts, and reviews have meant more to me than you know. In this episode, I open up about the pause, the hardships of this past year, and my commitment to preserving the voices and life lessons of the people we love most. I’m also honoring Shirley Smith, my very first guest, whose celebration of life is happening now. I’m so incredibly grateful I was able to sit down with her and record her stories.  Today, I’m sharing updates on my current services, including in-home and virtual fall risk assessments and wellness check-ins, along with the bigger vision I have for legacy storytelling, strength groups for aging loved ones, and celebrating the gift of aging in a way we don’t talk about enough. If any of this resonates with you, please reach out. This mission is still very much alive! Current Services Right now, I’m offering: Virtual & In-Person Home Safety Audits  Fall Risk Prevention Screens & Assessments Personalized Safety & Emergency Preparedness Plans Weekly Virtual Strength Training & Wellness Check-Ins Concierge-style health monitoring from a Doctor of Physical Therapy Referrals and coordination with local physical therapists when appropriate These services are designed to help your loved ones stay safe, strong, and connected in their homes… especially if aging in place is the goal. If you’re interested, have questions, or want to explore working together, please email me directly at: sara@sarashum.com A direct booking link is coming soon, but for now, email is the best way to connect. Future Directions If there’s enough interest, I would love to create: Virtual strength & conditioning group classes for aging adults, ending with connection-based coffee chats and storytelling prompts. Legacy storytelling & celebration packages that include filmed interviews, professional photography, makeup/styling, and a custom heirloom book + audio collection to pass down for generations. If you have a loved one whose stories deserve to be preserved, or if any of these offerings speak to you,  please email me at sara@sarashum.com. I am more than willing to build this alongside the families who feel called to it. Thank you for being here. If this episode resonated with you, please follow the podcast, leave a review, share it with someone who needs it, and send me a note. Every message helps move this mission forward. Aging is a privilege. Their stories matter. And please: hug your loved ones.  I’ll see you back here soon. 🤍
