*Special episode* Allison's father in the typhoon
This week I am on vacation so I decided to bring you a special episode, courtesy of Allison Sheridan our guest from episode 14 who let me use audio from her Chit Chat Across the Pond podcast episode 463. Instead of interviewing a guest, this week's episode is a reenactment of a letter written by Allison's father while he was caught in a Typhoon off the island of Okinawa in japan during World War II. This was September 16th 1945 and he was a Chief Engineer aboard an amphibious ship there. 15. Experiment! With Maggie C
Maggie was born in the Bronx to a rough childhood. She fled to LA to learn to act and find herself, which she started through yoga and meditation. We talked about how you become invisible as an older woman, and why its so hard to let go of toxic people. Maggie says when you give someone advice, you’re the one who needs to hear it, and she does just that! We end with a great tale about meeting a surprise shaman, but you’ll just have to listen to find out what exactly a cybercherry is!

This month we get to talk to Allison Sheridan, a former engineer turned techie and podcaster extraordinaire. She tells us about growing up spending her vacations on a sailboat, and how excited she got when the first computer arrived at her job. She has been hooked on tech ever since; in fact Allison was among the first podcasters and loves to teach people about tech to this day! She tells us tales of an eclipse chasing cruise, and the time she met Rod Roddenberry who is a fan of her show. Scott is our youngest guest ever, but that doesn’t make him any less qualified to share his great stories. Founder of Frogpants studios and cartoonist extraordinaire, Scott talks about how his love for technology started with a Japanese boombox, and how he was the coolest kid on the block thanks to his dad’s arcade. We discuss how different kinds of tech have evolved over time, why it’s important to stay at the forefront of innovation, and how that has impacted the way he raised his kids. Although he started out in corporate graphics design, Scott took the leap to go solo and founded his own podcasting network, where he now harbors some of the kindest fans on the internet. Entertaining and important
I love the concept of this show. Our societies elders have so many words of wisdom for us it would be a shame to not take advantage of their knowledge and experience. This podcast not only archives these amazing pieces of knowledge but delivers it in an engaging and entertaining format. I will be tuning in monthly!

Hidden Gems: A Film Podcast
A great listen!
This podcast has an amazing concept behind it--an archive of stories from an older generation that would otherwise have been forgotten and untold. I thoroughly enjoy not only Niki’s voice, but her generosity as an interviewer. She lets her subjects speak at their own pace, move through their personal sequence of events while lightly guiding them, and asks questions right as I have them as a listener. I can’t wait for the rich treasure trove this podcast will become… definitely worth a listen.
