Responsibly Provocative. That's The Gist of Mike Pesca!

Mike Pesca is an award winning journalist, NPR legend, book author, substacker, and host of The Gist.
Listen to The Gist every weekday. Follow Mike on Substack. Read his rollicking book on sports what ifs.
Mike and I discussed many things, including:
His his interviews with Virginia Sole Smith, Rainn Wilson, and Leon Neyfakh. His appreciation for The Colin McEnroe Show, WTF with Marc Maron, Conversations With Coleman Hughes, Larry Wilmore: Black on the Air, Savage Lovecast, Fresh Air with Terry Gross, and On the Media. For the record, if there were six faces on Mt. Rushmore, I might just enshrine Sean Evans and Neil Brennan, both of whom are pursuing innovative interview approaches. Mike recommends you read American Pastimes: The Very Best of Red Smith. So peachy ,

Love the guests!

Very entertaining and eye opening learning about unique careers and the paths leading to them.

Shanti Chu ,

Thought-provoking and authentic

I really enjoy the interviews, fun/authentic conversations that the host has with his guests, and how there is such a wide variety of guests. I find myself thinking about things that I usually don’t think about because of how he has guests from vastly different career fields.

DisappointedByTaxcaster ,

You’ll love these stories

Daniel is an excellent story teller. His interviews are organic and allow a flow that is uncommon in any form of media. His guests are clearly passionate and I find myself seeing people very differently - with greater reverence - than I did before. In short, Studs will help you grow and connect while being very entertaining. It’s worth clicking subscribe!
