Toby Harnden join us to discuss courage and how that's led him through a life that could very well be out of one of his books. He also has a unique ability to tell the stories that need to be told for us to humanize and empathize with events that seem completely disconnected from our own realities. This was a great one!

Toby is the author of First Casualty: The Untold Story of the CIA Mission to Avenge 9/11 and is a winner of the Orwell Prize for Books. He’s also a former foreign correspondent for the Sunday Times of London and the Daily Telegraph where he specialized in terrorism and war. 

Tony Leonardini joins us to discuss his adventures which traverse two unique areas: winemaking and woodland firefighting. His perspective on pursuing unique paths is invaluable and insight into California's wildfire problem is thought provoking.

Tony is the founder of Butternut Wines, which was purchased by Miller Family Wine Co in 2020.

Jason Boothroyd joins us in a big and candid discussion about Afghanistan. He shares what he learned while serving there, as well as sharing his perspective on why things went sideways at the end and what we can learn from it.

Sebastian Major is a teacher at the Crestwood School in Toronto, as well as the host of one of my favorite podcasts, Our Fake History. Sebastian joins us in a fun discussion on topics ranging from the importance of getting kids excited about world affairs and history, to how we can use his discovery methods to make sense of the real and fake history that we've recently lived through.
