    Heather in Arkansas

    Heather in Arkansas

On this episode I talk with Heather. Heather lives in Arkansas and she is a suicide attempt survivor.

    In Heather's words...
I am a 3x suicide attempt survivor and was a self mutilator for 14 years. Although there is no medical explanation of how or why I am alive today, I make a deliberate choice, every day, to trust and believe I am still breathing for a reason. Maybe the reason is to share what I have learned during this relentless war I call life with you. I pray my "story" will give someone the strength they need to choose another day. I hope it will give you insight to tools to help you make the choice to stay.

At 9 years old, I decided that, "No one can hurt me, more than I can hurt myself". It took me 14 years to realize that although it sounded like an excellent motto to live by, it was a lie. Even though I thought I was in control, I continued to give the abusers and abuse power and permission to continue to hurt me, each time I hurt myself. I want you to take your power back NOW! I don't want it to take you 14 years like it did for me!

I would love to help you find purpose, despite your pain. I would love to help give you more tools to help you fight and make the deliberate choice each day, to stay. I want you to become a fellow Tenacious Warrior in this relentless war called life! If you ever want to reach out directly to me, you can email me at: tenaciouswarrior4@gmail.com

Great Hearing Sean’s Honesty & Compassion

I’m a fan of this podcast. I tend to watch videos. As an artist, I’m visual. However! Listening to this podcast is an awesome break from everything that’s wrong in the world. I can close my eyes and listen. Sean Wellington, the host, is interested in helping others. Empathy! Compassion! He makes real connections with people. His kindness and lack of judgment makes it safe for his guests to speak openly. Great show. I recommend it.

A Tremendous Podcast

Sean is a terrific interviewer with a passion for helping spread the word about suicide prevention awareness, and reducing the stigma surrounding suicide specifically, and mental illness generally.

I loved my time on his show, and I have enjoyed listening to the brave stories from fellow survivors.
