    SUPERGAY FINALE- D-Man and Dazzler

Welcome to the 50th - and LAST - episode of Supergay! The co-hosts declare “Mission: Accomplished!” as both Marvel and DC release LGBTQ Pride Month anthologies this June. For their final deep dive into queer super heroes, Johnny and Alex explore the D-List: Marvel’s smelly wrestling sensation D-Man, and the iconic X-Men pop star who can convert sound into light, Dazzler! And finally, in a fond farewell to one another, the Super Gay duo discuss what they learned. THANK YOU FOR LISTENING!

The hosts REALLY know their stuff! This show has helped me rediscover my love for comic books and graphic novels! Love listening to this and getting ideas for what to read next and learning what is going on in this very interesting part of the publishing world. I like the hosts a lot!

Bodies Episode (July, 2018)

A Little Background for Context...Let me describe my summer. I am a 54 year old elementary teacher, meaning I have the summer off to do a lot of listening to podcasts, and I had major foot surgery in May. I am having both knees replaced, one each of the following two summers. so the discussion of bodies really hit home to me. Oh, I am a chubby--let's be honest, fat--and I had been very active daily until this surgery. I am in a cast now. and no weight-bearing until late August.
About The Podcast Today...Guys, I am being serious when I say this may have been the most impactful podcast to me that I have ever heard. I laughed and thought and Googled and thought more as I listened to every word. I am not a comic book guy, but I want to be now. Johnny and Alex, you have been some of my favorite listening all summer long, but today was over-the-top. Your kindness, articulation, and intelligence is remarkable. You know when you see or hear about a gay man, your pride swells, and you think, "Wow, they make us look really good...It's great to be gay!" Guys...you are now in that group for me. Thank you for being so transparent about your own body struggles; you are both so relatable.
I also learned so much about comics, writers, and illustrators. As I sat at a dog park while my dogs were running around. I Googled each character being discussed and saw just what you were discussing. It's so great that you focused on how bodies change, becuase as you both know, our bodies do change as society reacts accordingly to how we look. And yes, there are many many benefits to be a daddy. Even though my body is far from the gay norm, thank goodnss that there are guys who seek just what I represent.
You both rock, and please know you have a huge fan--pun intended--in Ohio!
