SUPERLATIVE: A DOUBLE SHOW SPECIAL WITH GEORGE BAMFORD

This is Superlative: A Podcast about watches, the people behind them, and the worlds that inspire them. This week our host and aBlogtoWatch Founder Ariel Adams is joined for a second time on the show by George Bamford, Founder of the Bamford Watch Department. This episode has a unique format where Ariel and George decided to do two podcasts in one. The first half of the show is George interviewing Ariel, while the second switches back to our normal Superlative format with Ariel asking the questions. They start the show talking about Ariels’ dream watch, the start of aBlogtoWatch, and they dive deep into Ariels’ insight into the industry. As the show migrates more into the Superlative side of things, George talks about how he and Ariel are similar when it comes to being consumed by your interests, and Ariel also asks George the very simple question of, “How do you get the worlds' best luxury brands to make your designs?”. George talks about the time he saw his watch on a passenger on an Airplane, and they talk about what the conversations are like when George presents his designs to brands. To stay updated with George and the Bamford Watch Department:- Instagram @Bamfordwatchdepartment - https://www.instagram.com/bamfordwatchdepartment/ (https://www.instagram.com/bamfordwatchdepartment/)- Instagram @Bamfordldn - https://www.instagram.com/bamfordldn/ (https://www.instagram.com/bamfordldn/)- Website - www.bamfordwatchdepartment.com (http://www.bamfordwatchdepartment.com)- Website - www.bamfordlondon.com (http://www.bamfordlondon.com/) To check out the ABTW Shop where you can see our products inspired by our love of Horology:- Shop ABTW - https://store.ablogtowatch.com/ (https://store.ablogtowatch.com/)To keep updated with everything Superlative and aBlogtoWatch, check us out on:- Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/ablogtowatch/ (https://www.instagram.com/ablogtowatch/)- Twitter - https://twitter.com/ABLOGTOWATCH (https://twitter.com/ABLOGTOWATCH)- Website - https://www.ablogtowatch.com/ (https://www.ablogtowatch.com/)If you enjoy the show please Subscribe, Rate, and Review!

SUPERLATIVE: NOT TRYING TO HIDE A LUXURY WATCH SECRET WITH JEAN ARNAULT - HEAD OF WATCHES AT LOUIS VUITTON

SUPERLATIVE: NOT TRYING TO HIDE A LUXURY WATCH SECRET WITH JEAN ARNAULT - HEAD OF WATCHES AT LOUIS VUITTON

This is Superlative: A Podcast about watches, the people behind them, and the worlds that inspire them. This week our host and aBlogtoWatch Founder Ariel Adams is joined by the Head of Watches at Louis Vuitton, Jean Arnault. Ariel starts the show asking about the exclusivity and somewhat secrecy behind the brands luxury watches. Jean elaborates on how they are only distributed through their own LV stores, and how he believes they operate in a more artisan way with their smaller team. Our guest is asked about what his goals are for the brand going forward, and how awareness is at the forefront of that. They talk about the luxury smart watch market currently, and while Jean still defends mechanical watches he still believes that a true sports watch today is now a connected watch. Jean goes into what makes their connected watches different, and why creating it all in house is important for them. To round out the end of the episode Jean explains why creating a fun piece with incredible software that works is extremely valuable to the mission, and even though Ariel and Jean both seem to get annoyed with the constant notifications aspect of smart watches, they always seem to turn them off anyways and get to really enjoy the watch itself. To stay updated with Jean and Luis Vuitton Watches:- Website - https://www.louisvuitton.com/ (https://www.louisvuitton.com/)- Instagram @Arnaultjean -https://www.instagram.com/arnaultjean/ (https://www.instagram.com/arnaultjean/)- Instagram @Louisvuitton - https://www.instagram.com/louisvuitton/ (https://www.instagram.com/louisvuitton/)To check out the ABTW Shop where you can see our products inspired by our love of Horology:- Shop ABTW - https://store.ablogtowatch.com/ (https://store.ablogtowatch.com/)To keep updated with everything Superlative and aBlogtoWatch, check us out on:- Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/ablogtowatch/ (https://www.instagram.com/ablogtowatch/)- Twitter - https://twitter.com/ABLOGTOWATCH (https://twitter.com/ABLOGTOWATCH)- Website - https://www.ablogtowatch.com/ (https://www.ablogtowatch.com/)If you enjoy the show please Subscribe, Rate, and Review!

This week our host Ariel Adams is joined by Nick English, the Co-Founder of Bremont Watches. The pair dive into the culture of image and how personal representation matters in the luxury world, and how important it was for Bremont to be a British brand in addition to being a luxury brand. Ariel asks Nick about his drive behind making watches that have a purpose they are specifically designed for. malfoxley ,

Great show!

Ariel, host of the podcast, highlights all things watches and more in this can’t miss podcast! The host and expert guests offer insightful advice and information that is helpful to anyone that listens!

PDPiper ,

I’ve tried but I just can’t!

It appears to me that over the past decade or so there has been a trend for interviewers to pontificate during their question to their guest/interviewee. Often giving the appearance that they are trying to highlight themselves as opposed to the guest. I as a listener cannot get past this trend any longer. Mr. Adams who seems like a very nice and knowledgeable person is guilty of this so often that I cannot get past it.

Do your listeners a favor and posit an interesting, non self centric question and step back, get out of the way and let your guest run with it. You’ll find you and your listeners will have more opportunity to learn from the interview as opposed to the majority of the interviews being long winded, self important blathering.

Sincerely, I do wish you all the best. Good luck.

Too much Ariel, irritating , needs to shut up

He keeps interrupting, I was surprised how different Ariel is on this program. He’s suffocating the guest and is a turn off.
