    The Sound of Home

    Kiko lives in the ocean with Mama Calima, Dad Koba, and wise Grandma Nima. Together, they travel as a pod, moving through the water in a familiar rhythm of breath, current, and sound. When Kiko pauses to twirl through a forest of swaying kelp, she becomes so caught up in exploring that she loses sight of her family. For the first time, the ocean feels enormous, and Kiko must learn to quiet her worries and listen carefully. Back with the pod, Grandma Nima notices Kiko is missing and sends a calm, familiar call through the water. Kiko hears the sound, follows it through the blue, and is joyfully reunited with her family. As their voices rise together once again, Kiko discovers that every member of the pod has a unique voice—and that those voices help keep them connected, no matter how big the ocean feels.
