This can be accomplished either through the use of chin implants or via osteotomies, which are cuts made in the anterior aspect of the lower jaw allowing for the chin bone to be positioned in a more desirable position and configuration. In this podcast, Dr. Garri will discuss the osteotomy technique of genioplasty including indications, the procedure itself, and usual postoperative course.

    For years, Dr. Garri has been a mentor to students, residents and fellows at different levels of study/training all of whom were interested in dentistry, medicine, surgery and plastic surgery in particular.  To help those interested have a better understanding of what residency training is like, Dr. Garri wrote and self-published a book about his experiences during his five-year residency training in general surgery.  In this episode, Dr. Garri introduces and discusses the book, which might be of interest to anyone interested in learning about residency training and the process by which surgeons are forged.
