Everybody Here is a Work of Art

Back in their respective studios this week, Scott and Robbie are talking about how Grandma's happy hour is happier now that the liquor laws were changed in Minnesota; because Generation Z and other young people aren't drinking much at all, bars are going the extra mile to court Gen Xers and Millennials with themed events and earlier start times; DoorDash has received FAA approval to develop and deploy their own drones to deliver food (and we're scared); how a New York state school district nixed their plans to buy $60,000 robots to help teach and tutor children; a Florida woman was booted off an Alaska Airlines flight for standing up and preaching about God in the aisle; 85 year old "Knot's Landing" actress Donna Mills has joined OnlyFans; and 90's singer Taylor Dayne announces a Las Vegas residency and Scott bought tickets to opening night this coming November. All that, plus lots more stuff you really don't NEED to know, but will certainly appreciate. Kinda. Maybe. Yes, You Can Sit With Us

There's an extra seat at our lunch table. Y'all come sit with us and we'll shoot all the shit.   On this all-new cornucopia of pop culture episode, Robbie and Scott discuss celebrity stalkers and respecting their privacy when you encounter them in the wild…a review of the FIFA World Cup final halftime show…a wide-ranging discussion about the sad lack of color and style all around us these days—like at chain restaurants, our cars, our own kitchens, and so much more…we are shocked that Halloween candy is already in grocery stores…because we love physical media, we're thrilled that CDs (as well as vinyl records, of course) are making a big comeback…we're tickled by the deformed raccoon named Jimothy who is all the rage in Seattle this Summer…"Home Alone 2: Lost in New York" has lost another iconic character actress…and, so much more.   Stream, download, and/or subscribe to the audio version of the show on most popular podcast apps and sites, such as Spotify, iHeart, Apple Podcasts, and Amazon. You're Gonna Need a Bigger Podcast

In honor of National Hot Dog Day, Scott and a reluctant Robbie ('cause he doesn't eat real hot dogs, doncha know), are talking about Pringles' new line of Pringles-flavored hot dog buns (say what?!); Jenifer Lewis' "Jackie's Back!" mockumentary is also celebrated today, Jackie Washington Day; a California Chinese restaurant levies fees if your kids act a fool; Pepsi apologizes for a funny social media post, because people are too sensitive these days; we don't have any love for Meta's Threads because we don't understand why it exists; and, we talk about "Jaws" again (because we're always going to do that, especially in the Summertime) and how even actors who had tiny bit parts are still capitalizing off the shark attack classic. But that's not all. folks! We also talk about a new "Nightmare on Elm Street" that's been green-lit at Paramount; another sequel to 1992's erotic thriller "Basic Instinct" is coming, this time written by the original movie's screenwriter, Joe Eszterhas; you can buy Bruce Wayne's Wayne Manor from the 1960's television show (but the Batcave is not included, sadly); a naked stand-up comedy show kicked off a naked bike ride in Chicago this past weekend (why?); the first-ever FIFA halftime show is happening this coming Sunday afternoon (along with a soccer game, supposedly); and, we pay tribute to singer Bonnie Tyler and actor Sam Neill, who both left u s this past week. It's a lot, y'all, but it's a super fun, all-over-the-map conversation. Stream, download, and/or subscribe to the audio version of the show on most popular podcast apps and sites, such as Spotify, iHeart, Apple Podcasts, and Audible. I'd Like to Express My Extreme Point of View

Wow! We're excited, and hope you'll dig it, too, because we've brought back old-school 'Swish Edition' by spending the first 20-minutes of the show in a free-flowing, all-over-the-map conversation. We think it's fun, y'all.  After that, Scott insisted that this week's new episode should be dedicated to the world of country music of the 1970s, but Robbie kinda sorta mandated that we HAD to discuss the official release of Madonna's new "Confessions II" album. So, we do the whole Siskel and Ebert treatment on that. And, man, Robbie gets FIRED up. It's both fun and a little scary to watch. He's passionate about his Madonna and he's bringing ALL the facts and insights. We also discuss Disneyland celebrating their one-billionth guest; AI-powered actress Tilly Norwood landing  a feature film role; Weird Al and Madonna say no to AI (but is she telling the whole truth?); the late Willy Wonka actor, Gene Wilder, is being resurrected for a new reality show; and, much more pop culture silliness of the week.  Stream, download, and subscribe to the audio version of the show on most popular podcast distribution apps and sites, such as Spotify, iHeart, Apple Podcasts, Audible, YouTube Music, and Podbean. Alternatively, every audio episode produced since 2018, is available at swishedition.com. And don't forget that we also have a VIDEO version available on YouTube so you can see our handsome faces. Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Pop Culture

A few days before America's big fat 250th birthday, hosts Scott and Robbie are talking about one of the most American things of all time—Dolly Parton's new Tennessee truck stop! Then, they're talkin' about the increasing (and very troubling) Big Brother-like AI surveillance systems that are being deployed in the U.S. at places such as bars, stop signs, and crosswalks. Plus we have the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds taking over the skies of Las Vegas; Bed, Bath & Beyond coming back in a big way; a crazily frivolous lawsuit is targeting Waffle House's advertisements; physical media—like DVDs and vinyl records—are more important than you thought; "Murder She Wrote" has it's time to shine again on the stage; and, our word of the week is 'mononymous.' You know lots of mononymous celebs, like Cher and Madonna and Seal and Sting. If you had a mononymous name, what would it be? All that, and more pop culture topics…stuff you just HAVE to know, y'all…for Wednesday, July 1, 2026. Stream, download, and subscribe to the audio version of the show on most popular podcast distribution apps and sites, such as Spotify, iHeart, Apple Podcasts, Audible, YouTube Music, and Podbean.
