    Knicks-Rockets, Gm 7, June 22nd, 1994 | NBA Finals

    The end.

The 1993-94 season culminated in a matchup between the Houston Rockets and New York Knicks in the NBA Finals, a series widely celebrated as a meeting of two of the game's great centers, Hakeem Olajuwon and Patrick Ewing. The players had previously met before as collegiate athletes, as Ewing's Georgetown University bested Olajuwon's University of Houston 84-75 in the 1984 NCAA Championship game. The Knicks-Rockets series would ultimately be defined by it's rugged, low-scoring defensive style and unsung performances from key role-players.

    Knicks-Rockets, Gm 5, June 17th, 1994 | NBA Finals

    Knicks-Rockets, Gm 5, June 17th, 1994 | NBA Finals

June 17th, 1994 is remembered as one of the wildest days in recent American history. Arnold Palmer played his final round of golf at the 1994 U.S. Open. The 1994 FIFA World Cup, hosted by the United States, got underway with opening ceremony appearances from President Bill Clinton and Oprah Winfrey. The New York Rangers celebrated their 1994 Stanley Cup Finals victory with a ticker tape parade. Ken Griffey Jr. tied Babe Ruth for most home runs before June 30th. The New York Knicks and Houston Rockets squared off for a pivotal Game 5 of the 1994 NBA Finals.
And O.J. Simpson, charged with double homicide, ran from police, only to be tracked down by a news helicopter, which broadcast the chase live on TV for over 95 million viewers.

One Of My Favorite BBall Podcasts

Really enjoy when they go off-topic. Chris and Ben are equally informative, but more importantly very entertaining to listen to. Plus, they’re Knicks’ fans.

I learn something new every episode

What I love, first and foremost, is the mix of content. The drafts teach me NBA history in a fun way. The general discussion of the nba helps me keep up with the current NBA. The series on Iverson is incredible and I learned a lot about Iverson and his impact on basketball.

Chris and his guests also have a way of speaking that is easy to understand while still taking advantage of their deep, excessive, knowledge of all things NBA. Even a casual NBA fan like me can follow along when they dive deep into the dark corners of the NBA.
