The Power of Hope
The central message of Christianity has always been called Good News because we have a King who disarmed the powers of sin and death, and gave us a living hope. And the Church - the people of God living out the will of God - has been called to bring that hope to others. Let’s reclaim the power of hope together as we launch into the final series of this year at Switch IRL.
What Do I Do When My Student Hints at Self-harm?
In this episode, Vince Parker and Kim West, a licensed professional counselor, share seven incredibly helpful ways we can be better prepared to walk with our students through mental health issues. It's challenging to navigate those conversations, but we don't have to be caught off guard by them. Take the opportunity to learn and be encouraged today! Show Notes
Are We Winning or Losing?
In this week's episode, guest host Josh Baldwin is joined by two Switch parents whose kids had very different experiences at Switch. Each of their unique experiences were based solely on the communication and love they felt from their small group leaders. Bryan and Hillary's story is both inspiring and heartbreaking, and shows the important and significant roles that we as leaders play in students' lives.
Isn't Intensity Overwhelming?
In this week's episode, Josh Baldwin and Jacob Romaine share insight into the importance of spiritual intensity. They aren't just defining the term though. They're offering practical examples of what it would look like in our lives and in the lives of our students when "spiritually intense" doesn't just describe what we do, but also who we're becoming.
Do I Have to Know Hebrew to Bring Shalom?
Shalom is not just a pretty sounding Hebrew word, it’s a calling we have as the Church. We are called by God to bring shalom to chaos. And instead of simply telling our students how to do this, we are continually going to give them permission to wrestle with their questions.
Why Is This Leader Guide So Long??
Switch Easter is going to be a very different experience as we introduce our students to the story of Jesus! The meat of this message will be preached in your small groups. Don’t panic! Remember, it’s okay to wrestle. It’s okay to have questions. In fact, that’s often how we learn and grow the best.
