    Brent Axe chats live following Syracuse basketball's 84-70 win over Virginia at the JMA Dome. SU put together one of its best defensive efforts in recent memory, smothering Virginia's shooters to force the Cavaliers into a 3-of-15 shooting night from 3-point range.  Eddie Lampkin was terrific in the paint once again with 25 points and 10 rebounds. Jyare Davis and Lucas Taylor also scored 15 points each for the Orange.     Adrian Autry will be back as Syracuse head coach next season: Did John Wildhack make the right call?

    Brent Axe and Chris Carlson discuss the news that Adrian Autry will return for a third season as Syracuse basketball head coach on a live Thursday edition of Syracuse Sports.  While not a surprise that Autry is back for a third year, Brent and Chris discussed the immense pressure that will be on him to prove he's the guy for Syracuse basketball. The Orange will have to make a serious impact in the transfer portal and get the most of out freshman Kiyan Anthony and Sadiq White.  Does Syracuse have the resources in place to make Autry a better coach in a college sports environment where most Power 4 schools are spending more money, adding staff and finding third-party NIL sources?  In order to make the NCAA Tournament, SU will have to win 10-12 more games, improve markedly on defense and Autry will have to turn around a narrative that SU can't close the deal on tight games.  Brent and Chris also got plenty of feedback from Syracuse Sports Insiders on the decision to press forward with Autry in charge.  Become a Syracuse Sports Insider today!     Syracuse basketball snatches defeat from jaws of victory (again) at SMU

    Brent Axe chats live following SMU's 77-75 win over Syracuse on Tuesday night. The Orange found a way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory again as it let another double-digit lead evaporate into a loss. SMU scored on 15 of its last 16 possessions and dominated in the paint in the 2nd half (28-10) to squeeze out the two-point win over SU despite a 13-of-27 performance at the free throw line.  Axe discussed how the 2024-25 season could end up without a signature moment for SU (a win Tuesday would be about as close as they have come to it) and the gargantuan task ahead to put a 12-18 (6-13) team back into the NCAA Tournament conversation.  Brent also got plenty of feedback from frustrated Syracuse Sports Insiders on the Orange's loss to SMU.  Become a Syracuse Sports Insider today!
