    Today, I am joined by two incredible leaders from the Diabetes Sports Project (DSP): Dr. Joe Henske and Lauren Adams. Dr. Henske is a clinical endocrinologist, researcher, and Director of the Diabetes Program at the University of Arkansas, Medical Sciences. Having completed 15 marathons, he is currently leading a groundbreaking study on T1D athletes competing in the Boston Marathon. Joining him is Lauren Adams, a Registered Dietitian and Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist with nearly two decades of experience blending clinical expertise with a passion for community advocacy– having completed 12 marathons. As ambassadors for the Diabetes Sports Project, Joe and Lauren work to empower the millions affected by diabetes, proving through elite competition that proper management and a positive outlook make any dream achievable.  We dive into the intersection of high-level athletics and diabetes technology. We discuss Dr. Henske's latest research on marathoners, Lauren's insights on nutritional victory, and how they are both working to provide the roadmap for the next generation of T1D athletes to perform at the highest levels of sport.
