Welcome to Taco Talks, I am your host Not Another Taco, and I am here to share some of my experiences being a queer immigrant from Mexico in the USA. What to expect when you move to a different country? How to navigate race biases when you never have experienced that before? Why did I get into adult entertainment? In each episode, I will talk about what have I experienced so far and what have been learnings through different chaotic parts of my life and I hope that together we can make this a better place.

    Winter Special: Why so SAD? / What is Seasonal Depression?

    According to the latest ValuePenguin survey of 2,100 Americans, around 55% of the inquired people experiences sadness and loneliness during the holidays early in 2022 — including 35% who say it's worse than last year.  In the same study, it was founded that members of the LGBTQ+ community face more holiday loneliness than any other demographic analyzed, with 76% experiencing the winter blues. Some of the triggers that affect the most during this time are the ingestion and abuse of alcohol and drugs, the lack of sunlight or the growing sensation of feeling lonely and isolated. During the following weeks I will have different conversations with several specialists and friends that have developed skills and tools to help them to navigate through these times.     When “Your Overconfidence Is an Ugly Treat”…

    Confidence is not only about looking at yourself in the mirror and thinking you are the best thing in the world, but knowing what your limitations are too. And yeah, you probably look at me all the time taking thirst photos and whatnot but the reality is that I have to deal with my own insecurities like I am sure most of us have to. The tricky part about insecurities is that they have been there for years and years, hidden in the shadows and they just feed narratives that live in our minds and help them to continue mining our self-esteem.

    The Photographer Years / Representation In Social Media Matters

    I want to talk about the importance of representation on social media. For those who don't know I am also a photographer. I remember I started doing photography when I realized that back in 2017 there were so many photographers that just needed a model with abs, good lighting, and a good camera and pum… 1K likes! I decided that I will do something about it just to realize the number of challenges you have to face to bring real diversity into the game.     Wow finally on the fourth floor! I am ready, to be honest here... one of the major reasons I moved to NYC was because I acted out of fear. Being afraid of missing out but also understanding that there is nothing wrong with acting out of fear when you don't allow your feelings to take control over you!

    Introduction: Welcome to Taco Talks, a podcast motivated by the idea of creating a safe space where to share my experiences in hopes that these can help others to navigate through their lives or just have fun. In the first episode, I will tell you a little about how did Taco come to life, why 2020 was so important in my life and what helped me to navigate through one of the biggest changes of my whole life.
