Mandatory Onsite Builds Bias Not Culture - The 10 Minute Talent Rant

Mandatory Onsite Builds Bias Not Culture - The 10 Minute Talent Rant

The results are in: we were more productive in 2020 than we were in 2019. But that’s not stopping a lot of companies from announcing they want everyone back 100% of the time.

And the common rally cry is...culture? Business executives favoring “the vibe” over output? Well that sounds a little odd...

When you peel back the layers further, there are other factors at play. Not everyone has the same ability to work in a set physical location. And are we setting up an employee class system based on proximity and not accomplishments?

Well, we’ve got an opinion on it all. Jeff Smith and James Hornick let it fly on the10 Minute Talent Rant, Episode 20, "Mandatory Onsite Builds Bias Not Culture"

What Candidates Want to Know Sales Edition - The Employer Content Show

What Candidates Want to Know Sales Edition - The Employer Content Show

Ever visit a corporate website and have no idea what they really do? Then visit their careers site and it's mostly fluff?

Kinda makes hiring needlessly difficult, don't you think?

There’s a gap between what candidates want to know and what companies make readily available. It isn't by design though. Most places just don't know what job seekers want to hear about.

Nate Guggia and James Hornick are going to fix that. They’re dedicating the next few episodes of The Employer Content Show to presenting real questions collected from real candidates. Not just their opinions.

They’ll give companies the ammo they need to do an A+ of presenting their value with content. Starting with salespeople.

Contingent Search is Stupid - The 10 Minute Talent Rant

Contingent Search is Stupid - The 10 Minute Talent Rant

Aside from contingent recruiting, name a professional services sector that works for free. Maybe getting paid later.

    I’ll wait.

The boom or bust of contingent search is clearly an inefficient way to run a business. But it’s also bad for hiring companies. Being the lowest priority for a dozen vendors is never a recipe for success.

It’s time for a re-think. Jeff Smith and James Hornick do just that in the next 10 Minute Talent Rant, Episode 19, "Contingent Search is Stupid"

Job Descriptions Are Not Job Ads - The Employer Content Show

Job Descriptions Are Not Job Ads - The Employer Content Show

Job descriptions are boring. We all hate writing them. And we don’t like reading them much either.

But when it comes to attracting talent with job ads? Most recruiters still post the old JD. Kind of makes you wonder: is everyone just doing it all wrong?

For the first time ever, Nate Guggia and James Hornick welcome a special guest to The Employer Content Show. Mitch Sullivan has spent his career in recruiting and copywriting focusing heavily on this topic and is happy to share his thoughts in Episode 17 “Job Descriptions Are Not Job Ads”

James is a beast

This is the only staffing/ recruitment related podcast I listen to. James is a wealth of knowledge and sarcasm.
Especially like his recurring guest shows with Nate Guggia.
