Good podcast. What if Lily had been with Severus instead of James?

The cast announcements for the upcoming HBO Harry Potter series continue to intrigue me. I try to hold my criticism until the show actually airs. You have to keep an open mind about the decisions they make. I just trust and hope Rowling will make the right decisions and not do anything too crazy.

Omg... what a podcast! Huge Harry Potter fan, and this is the podcast I look forward too every week! Also the only reason I got a Twitter account! It’s different And absolutely what I need in my life! Especially the first read through. It was like experiencing the books for the first time all over again. The anticipation for the Muggle of the show to read some portions of the book is the best!!! I would give it more stars if it let me.

Ultimately the show just isn’t quite what I was looking for. I was hoping for some more extensive discussion of the books and I think it just isn’t possible when one of the hosts is reading them for the first time. The hosts have good chemistry, I was just hoping for more of a deep dive. On a technical side, the episodes I listened to definitely could have benefited from some editing, both technical and otherwise. There were often long gaps of dead air or moments when they were struggling with a technical issue and often the introduction was dragged out a bit too long. If we are several episodes into a re-read podcast we don’t need to be told again why we’re here. If anyone is just dripping into the middle they can always go back. The tone and content of the podcast may change over time, it’s just not for me.
