Surviving & Thriving After Losing It All In The LA Fires

Jeremy Padawer, Chief Brand Officer at Jazwares (the company behind the AEW action figures), avid toy and card collector, and TIJ alum, returns under very different circumstances. Jeremy and his family lost everything in the devastating LA firestorm this past January. Their Pacific Palisades home, and nearly all of Jeremy’s multimillion-dollar collectibles collection, was destroyed – rare baseball cards, Pokémon cards, action figures, comics, and even a first-edition Harry Potter book. Not even “fire proof safes” or a commercial bank vault could withstand the flames. Thankfully, Jeremy and his family made it out safely, and insurance covered most of the financial losses. And now Jeremy’s focused on something bigger – helping his Palisades neighbors and community rebuild. He talks about advocating for changes at the government level and fighting to ensure residents can keep their lots and actually rebuild their homes. He even launched a resource website to help – PacificPalisades.com. My favorite podcast ever. Most podcast can’t seem to stay on topic but Chris makes sure to do so. No talking to a rockstar and trailing off about how your weekend has been. Or just putting the episodes topic on the back burner and just shooting the breeze. He has a large variety of guest and a joke of the week for every episode. You can tell that he cares about what he is making and it shows. It’s hard to believe that he’s also a wrestling rockstar, how does he do it all? My only gripe would be there aren’t nearly enough paranormal episodes. Those are my favorites and I hope he can bring some more of those soon.

I have a Top 5 or 6 shows that I listen to regularly, but rarely do I miss a TIJ. Been one of my favorite wrestlers for 30 years, and has become so much more as the master of reinvention. I love the variety of the interviews - whether it’s wrestling, music, true crime, or paranormal - Chris asks the best questions. Awesome stuff, no matter the topic.

Had to stop listening. Regular listener for about 2 years but I became increasingly annoyed at how he would make any conversation about him and his personal accomplishments. A small gripe was how silly he sounded when edits were made in post for ad breaks, the fakest laugh followed by “alright (guest name) we’re going to get more into that but right now I want to talk about (product)…”
