    AND SUDDENLY…

Send us Fan Mail For the past month, we’ve both been hearing the same message: AND SUDDENLY. In this episode, we talk about the season we’ve been in and the one we believe we’re preparing to step into. From changes at work and new business opportunities to new ventures, school starting, bills, and the everyday pressure of trying to keep everything moving—some seasons can make you wonder when things are finally going to turn around. But what if this season isn’t just something to get through? What if it’s preparing you for what comes next? We’re talking about recognizing what this season is trying to teach us, doing the work while we’re here, and believing that sometimes life can feel the same for a long time… and suddenly, everything shifts. Traditions, Transitions & Letting Go

Send us Fan Mail In this episode, Bekah shares about her new book, The Tables That Raised Us, and we talk about the traditions we grew up with—the ones we’ve kept, the ones we’ve made our own, and the ones we’ve had to question and decide whether they still belong in our lives. That leads us into another kind of letting go: our kids getting older and making decisions for themselves. We talk about how hard that transition can be as single parents, especially when Dad isn’t actively in the picture and there’s no one to tag in when parenting gets heavy. How do you give your kids room to grow when you’ve been the one carrying the responsibility for so long? It’s a conversation about traditions, transitions, parenting, and realizing that just because something—or someone—is changing doesn’t mean you’re losing it. Support the show Real-life sisters. Everybody's Got Something

Send us Fan Mail In this episode, we're all over the place—in the best way. We kick things off by talking about our favorite movies, the ones we can watch over and over, and the ones that are just too hard to revisit. From there, the conversation naturally turns to raising adult children, how those relationships change over time, and why parenting doesn't necessarily get easier—it just gets different. Tamara shares what she's preparing for as senior year approaches, while we reflect on how differently we were raised as teenagers compared to our own kids today. And one thing we've learned? If you have multiple kids, they somehow have an unspoken agreement to take turns keeping you on your toes. It's a little nostalgia, a little parenting, a lot of laughter, and another honest conversation... talked out loud. Support the show Real-life sisters. Real talk. Real healing. Packing Boxes & Unpacking Beliefs

Send us Fan Mail In this episode, we share a glimpse into Bekah's book, I Thought I Was Fine, and how moving throughout our childhood shaped the way we formed attachments—to people, places, and even our belongings. We also reflect on the punishments and consequences we experienced growing up and how they've influenced the way we parent today. Along the way, we discuss the importance of understanding Scripture in context, how easy it is to adopt someone else's interpretation as absolute truth, and why questioning what we've always been taught isn't the same as abandoning our faith. It's a conversation about what we carry with us, what we're choosing to leave behind, and how healing often begins by unpacking both our boxes and our beliefs. Support the show Real-life sisters. The Good, The Bad, and The Churchy

Send us Fan Mail In this episode, we unpack our experiences growing up in Christian schools, attending church, and being immersed in Christian culture from an early age. We talk about the expectations placed on us, the messages we received about mistakes and failure, and what happens when questions aren't welcomed. We also discuss deconstructing religion, navigating faith as adults, Christian music, church culture, and why so many people struggle when they're taught what to believe but not how to process life's hard questions. This isn't a conversation about abandoning faith—it's about examining what we've been taught, holding space for questions, and finding our way through the things that no longer make sense. As always, we're talking about it out loud. "We were taught how to follow the rules. We weren't always taught what to do when we broke them."Support the show Real-life sisters. Real talk. Things We Wish We Didn't Know (and Wish We Knew Sooner)

Send us Fan Mail In this episode, we talk about the experiences we wish we'd known before we learned them the hard way-- and some things we wish we didn't know. From relationships and adulthood to family dynamics and life in general, we reflect on the conversations that never happened when we were growing up and how that shaped us. We also discuss why we're much more open and forthcoming with our own kids, believing that knowledge, honesty, and communication prepare them better than silence ever could. Some lessons are unavoidable. Others could have been a little easier if someone had simply talked about them. Our kids may not always like what we tell them, but they'll never be able to say nobody told them. So that's exactly what we're doing — talking out loud. Support the show Real-life sisters. Fear, Respect, and Our Kids Could Never

Send us Fan Mail In this episode, we're asking a question that might make some people uncomfortable: Were we respectful... or were we just scared? We unpack the difference between fear and respect, sharing stories from our childhood and comparing them to how our own kids would respond today. From "the look" to unspoken household rules, we reflect on what shaped us, what we're keeping, and what we're changing as parents. Along the way, we talk about generational differences, parenting styles, and why understanding the "why" behind behavior matters more than blind obedience. As always, there's plenty of laughter, a little nostalgia, and a whole lot of talking out loud. Support the show Real-life sisters. Real talk. Real healing.
