Episode 149: This Is The May

Episode 149: This Is The May

Yes, this is the May! We said we were gonna do it and now we have. While we aren't the biggest fan of Star Wars we are a big fan of ska and there is a lot of ska based on it. This ended up being a bit more 90's focus than we intended it to be. Though that's where our head has been at lately, so can't say we're too surprised. Some come along and listen to some tunes by The Prizefighters, Greenhouse, Orange Tree, Eclectics, Skabba the Hut, Luke Skawalker, RedEyed Jedi, The Double Deckers, The Blackouts, Wreckinghorn, and Thumper.

    Episode 148: Not A Kitchen

    Episode 148: Not A Kitchen

That's right everyone, we are finally back (again) with a new episode. It's a little later than we would have liked, but there's been a lot going on lately. But it seems like the light at the end of the tunnel is in sight and we are gonna talk about some ska dagnabbit! An astounding amount of awesome tracks in this episode from longtime scene stalwarts and young up and comers alike. Featuring music by Buster Shuffle, The Busters, Los Super Duppers, The Third Rates, Voodoo Glow Skulls, Link 80, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Ghost Tones, The Sensibles, Skaffolding, and The Slackers.

    Episode 147: I'm A Mess, It's Monday

    Episode 147: I'm A Mess, It's Monday

There are two very important lessons I learned in the production of this episode. 1) It has been far too long since our last proper episode and I miss it terribly. 2) Never again will I record in my kitchen, it's sort of a sonic nightmare. I also should take notes, but we all knew that already. One the plus side this episode features loads of new music, stuff we missed, the birth of "Talkers" and even a contest! Featuring music by Wild Man Riddim, The Abruptors, The Regards, The Resojets, Something To Do, Backyard Superheroes, O Leopardo, tryingtogetby, Chango Munks, The End Times, Culture Shock, and Jeff Rosenstock!

Episode 146: Which Episode Is This Again?

Well hello there! It's been a bit since we last posted an episode, but we're finally back! This one has been in the works for quite awhile and it shows, because it's massive! Featuring music by Gentlemen's Dub Club, The Bakesys, Rude City Riot, The Penniless Loafers, Left Alone, The Rude Ways, El Piloto Ciego, Ska Freaks, Skabara, Meskales, Dance Contraption, Belangkon Haji, and The Bruce Lee Band! It's certainly a great time to be a ska fan here in 2021.

Super cool

This is a great idea for a podcast. I appreciate how Mattie keeps it real and helps me discover great ska (past and present) from around the world. This podcast is a joy to listen to

Can’t get enough!

This is easily one of my favorite ska podcasts. We get to hear the whole breadth of the ska spectrum from all corners of the globe, and I am here for the TALK in between the songs—I like the background information on the bands, and I especially enjoy the host’s personal take. Keep up the great work!

Heyo

just discovered this podcast and it’s such a great way to learn about new bands. The songs flow together very well, the vibe is chill and although there is little commentary from the host, it’s also very good. A great podcast to have on in the background if you’re looking for good tunes but still have work to do
