Early visits to the dentist serve as opportunities to educate parents about oral care and the prevention of cavities, setting the foundation for good dental habits from a young age. Pediatric dentist Dr. Sarah Linell talks about preparing a child for their first dental visit, addressing tongue and lip ties, the importance of baby teeth and brushing a child's teeth after consuming milk, the safety of dental X-rays, and the impact of thumb-sucking and pacifier use on a child's dental health. Nutrition is another critical topic of conversation, and Dr. Sarah points out that some foods, like gummy vitamins, can be detrimental to dental health, as they get stuck in the teeth. This procedure can help children who are struggling with issues related to latching on during feeding, feeding difficulties, and other symptoms associated with tongue and lip ties.
